Gosh,we've unleased a torrent of meeting ranting 😱😂 I am largely on the amateur slopes compared to many of you 😁 I steadfastly keep a paper diary, so any meeting invitations are treated as optional by me until they're in that 😂 Can't be doing with being called on Teams whether it says I'm busy or not - it's not a phone and I refuse to use it as such 😱😂 And there's nobody clocking me in at 9am or out at 5pm, so if you schedule a meeting at 9am overnight then chances are I'll miss it!
But I am well aware I am fortunate in the amount of control I have over that compared to some people, so I won't complain too much 😂
No premium bonds win for me today 😠
Working at home thankfully. Got a couple of meetings to prepare for but otherwise trying to just get stuff off my desk before being away for the rest of the week...7 -
Morning Cheery...

I didn't even have any gin after all that 😂😂 Had tea with a friend, did a couple of hours of flute playing, then fell asleep on the sofa til Mr Cheery got home 😂😂5

Delighted to say that meetings form no part of my working week as a rule, so no ranting from me on that score! (Although I do have some as part of our voluntary role, and one of those recently got rearranged as a result of several people not keeping the time slot designated for it free. It is of course now on a weekend where I had originally intended to do something else, which is frustrating!).🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
Balance as at 01/09/23 = £115,000.00 Balance as at 31/12/23 = £112,000.00

Grr, it's always annoying when people do that!
Morning all. I have to say this is quite an objectionable hour to be on a train, especially one without a tea trolley! 😱6 -
It is indeed @Cheery_Daff
Also part of a voluntary body which has board meetings agreed a year in advance that have had to be rescheduled so one person can attend water aerobics. There are 6 meetings a year and so I am particularly irked by this for no reason other than the original time suited me wellMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Oh dear @Watty1 🙄😂 That is quite ridiculous. Next time counter their nonsense with an imaginary zumba class!
Yawn, still no tea. Half an hour left on this train, then have 25 mins to find breakfast and next train. Yawn.5 -
In the meantime, doing some totting up. June was a bumper month for extra cash!
£25 1P payout
£185 my bank switch
£185 Mr C's bank switch
£100 my NW share
£100 Mr C's NW share
£2.20 bank rewards
£4.99 MB
= £602.19 😱
That's £2041.26 this year 😱
Quite a lot of that is bank switching - £695 since April (I've only got monthly totals before that in this notebook).
Had quite a bit of cashback too, £131.55 since April (although some of that was linked to bank switches).
MB is being a bit pathetic - I barely do much at the minute, an occasional flurry of low risk casino but not every day and not remotely systematic. I dropped one of my annual subscriptions this year, but kept the other one - including that, I'm at minus £213.19 🙄😂 (that figure is taken into account in the overall amount). Need to spend the rest of this year deciding whether to ditch it, or actually just do it more often. Same decision as the gym really 😂
Right, 8 minutes left on this train and I will heading directly for a cup of tea!8 -
Eek, second train, and still no tea!! My calculations were of the 'early morning before tea' variety (ie wrong 😂) and I only had 17 minutes. Tea, and a trip round the supermarket for food that wasn't a pastry, and I had to head off for the train.
Still, at least I have had breakfast now. 40 minutes til the next changeover - I have 26 minutes and I will be ignoring everything except tea 😂7 -
Wow Cheery - that was indeed an early start - at least you have a pastry! Hope tea soon finds it's way to you.
I'm thankfully on leave this week, so no commute to the big smoke! Can't say that I miss it! I've been up & pomodoro'ing through the various things in the house that get neglected because of work 😉4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
