Could do beanie - not even sure there'll be any damage to the other car anyway. I'm not getting involved, got enough on my plate. Mr C had put a note through the (communal) door of the flats the car was parked outside and did get a phone call this afternoon - but the bloke just said he hasn't actually been at home at that point in the day anyway. We'll see if anything comes of it.
Anyway, I feel like I've had rather a trial of a day 😬 lots of work upheaval this week, and without going into to much detail there will be more to come. No good will come of it.
Personally, my job is unlikely to be at risk for various reasons (touch wood), but I can't say the same for many of my colleagues unfortunately 😕
My first priority in the coming weeks is to retain my own sanity and peace of mind, because without that I'm no use to anyone. I'll continue with my yoga each morning as a good starting point, counselling, cheerful activities outside of work and compartmentalising as much as I can so weekends and evenings aren't spent thinking about work.
In a self interested way, I'll be focusing on not getting distracted from longer term things that will make me more portable, just in case.
And outside of that, doing what I can to minimise impact on colleagues, although right now I have no idea what that will look like.
One more immediate note, I need to decide whether to go into town with Mr C tomorrow. I planned to work at home (before today happened) but now can't decide whether I'd be better in the office surrounded by colleagues, all in it together, or whether I'll get nothing done because everyone will be so stressed, and I'd actually be better off turning off my emails and staying home and doing some of those longer term things.
Mr C is going out for tea with some pals in the evening so I could join then if I was in town - or i could have a peaceful evening home alone...
For context I've been in the office 3 days already this week, plus Saturday, plus 3 days last week, and for the week before - and I'm meeting a friend very close to n my office on Friday as well... possibly taking myself into staying at home...

I would stay at home today. Let everybody get over the worst of the shock today and over the weekend and then they will be more open to support, guidance or whatever practical help you might be able to offer next week. If you go in today, you will come away feeling down and depleted. That’s not looking after you.
I hope Mr CD can relax about the car incident soon.

Thank you all, and @rtandon27 I'm sorry you're going through similar nonsense too 😕
I did indeed decide to stay at home, althoughi have still done nothing productive so far today 😬 Going to plug the phone in in a different room, make another cuppa, and get down to business.

Well yesterday was quite ridiculous, still messing about at 3pm so I went to a cafe which helped reset my brain considerably, and I ended up working til about 9pm (Mr C was out, or I wouldn't have got away with it 😬)
Today I'm off work though, and it'll be both a spendy and exciting day,as I'm off to get my first tattoo 😂😂 Paid half already as a deposit, so it'll just be the other half to pay, but then I'm meeting a friend for lunch, and it's also our wedding anniversary 🥰 8 years, but we've been together over 20 so we don't really do much in the way of celebrating this date in particular. Might have an extra piece of cake though 😂

Happy Anniversary nonetheless! Any excuse for a piece of good cake - hope it's triple chocolate of the best kind. Enjoy your self-care day -it's always buoying to have lunch with a friend.
I know what you mean about 20 vs 8 though, as my OH and I have been together since 2006 and see the date I arrived here from across the pond as our anniversary! We officially married last autumn, and I was blown over that the people sending the biggest congratulations were the ones who most opposed our union 20 years ago! 🤣🤣🤣4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
