Also had no idea the dehumidifier had a filter. Ooops.

@badmemory - do you have an audi? - if so sds is speech dialogue system - it could also mean your software needs an update

Speech dialogue system does make sense as the satnav has gone mute & when in use has also muted the radio & although it is a VW it is 10 years old. I will see if it will update at all.

What a fantastic haul from the food waste scheme @Cheery_Daff
Confession, I haven't cleaned the dehumidifier filter 🤣
@Greying_Pilgrim great idea to use an old pillowcase to protect the dehumidifier when not in use. This last week I had been thinking of what I can use as a cover for ours, I think we have a larger model than yours as a pillowcase would be too small, I will keep looking for something I can shop from home, I don't want to use a box as it will be in use occasionally due to the age of the house.

Why was I putting it off, cleaning the filter took under 2 minutes including getting out and putting away the silicone dust pan and brush - yes. I timed it 😂

Baileys_Babe - I was lucky to find some older 'Oxford' pillow cases in my fabric stash. I'm not sure a conventional modern pillow case would have stretched around the dehu, but yes, shopping from home is great. Is yours one of the taller ones? Perhaps a bolster cover would do it. Or an 'upside down' cardboard box, with no 'bottom', so that it just lifts off when the dehu is needed.

What an amazing haul - I wonder how much that would have cost if you paid for it?

@Greying_Pilgrim good thinking on the box, I think our dehumidifier is bigger in all directions, but I could be wrong. If I'm unsuccessful I should be able to run something up using the eldest's sewing machine and some scrap fabric, even my sewing skills are capable of that.
