Cheery's path to fulfilment - finishing the DIY, looking after myself, appreciating the garden 🌻

That's a good point, I might have just assumed that - they do charge an extra £25 per call out for cars over 10 years, but I don't know if it stops at 15 like European, I might have just merged the two together this morning in my head!3

Auto aid covers for vehicles over 15 years, but you have to pay an extra one off c£22 upfront on the annual policy charge plus the £25 excess on any individual breakdown incident on a vehicle over ten years. We did it last year in case because one of his motorcycles is 1999. They are also now charging an extra £10 for spouse, so this year we may be better off elsewhere for the first time. From memory our trip to Jersey was covered, but not if we went to Europe. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thanks Redo, that's helpful 😊
I am delighted to report that I reached 1P payout today, and have now claimed 😃 So that's another £25 in the pot.
Work has been acceptable. Bit drained with this cold, but I made it a mission to cross as many small tasks off my spreadsheet list as possible this afternoon. I've made a fantastic spreadsheet to do list, which I can filter according to project, level of urgency/importance, and estimated time taken (and with the help of my sister it turns things green when I've done them, and at the end of the day all the green ones zoom off into a different tab, very satisfying 😂)
Anyway, I filtered by 15 mins tasks (my shortest time slot), and then started with the urgent & important ones. Not saying I did everything, but I certainly made a good dent. There were some that had been put off for a while too, so that was good.
Tomorrow is a weird day - I'm off to a semi work event (on a non-work day), and having lunch with an old pal. Mr Cheery is off to the same city at roughly the same time, and we tried to work out if we could go together, but he's right off to the far side, which would mean me driving an extra 40 mins each way & parking in the town centre (no thanks) so he's driving straight to his thing, and I'm going on the train from our local station, as planned. Possibly not the most efficient way, but the way that scrambles my brain the least...
Anyway, another gentle one tonight, with a nice hot bath 😊😊11 -

Thanks Beanie 😊 I got caught up this morning and managed to miss my earlier train by literally 1 minute 🙄😂 However, I'm here ready for the one I originally intended and have a nice free coffee from the Octopods to accompany me 😊5

Would you like to sort my spreadsheets out for me? They never do what I want them to!
Enjoy the unexpected downtime waiting for your train.4 -
Ha, I barely ever use spreadsheets for numbers, they're all for lists and words 😂😂 And I swear at them a lot, and had to get my sister to help with this one (and do a lot of googling). I am certainly no expert, but I do like them!
On the train now, the sun is shining, the USB charger is working, and I am ticking some things off the list 😊
* £7 reclaimed from hotel stay rewards from a night at the seaside a while back, now in bank
* £2.20 Bank rewards also arrived - they're stopping these soon so I am appreciating them while they're here!
That makes £88.80 in extra cash received this month, plus £25 to come from 1Poll (they give themselves 30 days so it might be next month), plus £37 of Mr Cheery's cashback once we've figured out which bank it's linked to (easy, just haven't got round to it yet).
S@ntand3r bank switches have started to pay out too according to the MSE thread, although they've still got another 6 weeks before their official date. I'll check when I get home, haven't got login details with me. I think we signed up pretty late so unlikely to be in the first batch, and there may be an issue with Mr Cheery's as they seem to think he has another account with them. So that should be £185 for mine, and potentially the same for his, although may be June/July before it arrives.
Another £2.25 cashback tracked yesterday, not counting til it's in the bank though.
Happy wheel is being quite abandoned at the minute, but that's alright as it's far outweighed with bank switches. Will endeavour to at least get into positive figures by the end of the month! I've got it on my list of projects to go through and check all accounts, sign up for new ones, and generally tidy up my admin - but it's not reached the top of my projects list yet...9 -
That’s some impressive extra money totals there Cheery!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I know!! I'm almost up to £1500 in 2024 in extra dosh - mostly bank switches, but also cashback, bank rewards, happy wheel etc. Most pleasing!
Event was cheerful, as was lunch - we decided the cafe we met in was far too expensive for lunch so grabbed a sandwich from the supermarket and sat on a bench 😂
On the train home again now, and I am definitely wearing too many clothes 😬 It was drizzling and grey when I left home - I've got knee high boots on and two pairs of socks! 😱 Need to dig out my summer wardrobe and see if I can actually fit in any of it 🙄9 -
Ooh, interesting round up from the Octopods
Looks like they'll be doing some free sessions over the summer when wind/solar are at their peak so keep an eye out for those!8
