🙄 there was me thinking I was all organised... It turns out the MOT for the little car (not the one we're taking on holiday, thankfully) is due on Tuesday! 😱🙄 I've written it on the calendar - on 21st June 🙄 Very annoying. I only realised because I was writing in my little five year diary, and this time last year it said I'd taken it for the MOT. Checked online and yes, expires Tuesday. For goodness sake!
Garage are pretty good at fitting us in, so hoping they can do it either Tues or Wed, as we're both travelling in/through the city on that day anyway, so if they need to keep it overnight, we can still get home. Fingers crossed.
Hey ho. Have set a reminder to ring as soon as they open!8 -
You’ve remembered the thing that was bothering your subconscious! 😊😉
Hope they can fit you in.

Ha, yes! Can't believe I wrote it in the calendar for June. Very glad I was looking in my 5 year diary, I've neglected it a bit recently (I try to write every day but sometimes can go for a couple of weeks without doing it) - or else I might have been driving round without an MOT for a fortnight! 😱
Anyway, panic over, it's booked in for Wednesday morning, and as I have an early meeting, I might try and ditch it on Tuesday afternoon. Will try to sort something later - Mr Cheery and the other car will be in town on both days so we'll just need to figure out who needs to be where and when.
Right, I am outside on the swing with a cuppa, but still in my dressing gown 😂 So I'd best get dressed and make a start...6 -
You can get an online reminder via the DVLA/.gov site for MOTs. Can't remember precisely where, but I was notified of it at some point (possibly updating my address?) and thought it might be useful. It's not like the govt. don't know about my MOT, so no privacy implications! My mechanic used to remind me at the place I used to go to and it was very handy.5

Our local garage sends reminders, but we stopped using them as they were too expensive to justify with our crappy old cars 😂 Current garage, the one we've used for years, is more of a gaffer tape and baler twine outfit and much more suited to a couple of old bangers 😂 But they don't send reminders - or even ring you when the car is done, you have to ring them 🙄😂
But thanks for the reminder about the government site. We've had those before I think, but for different cars to the two we have now!5 -
Grrr, had the wind taken out of my sails this morning with quite a rude email from a colleague, which has felt rather like a slap in the face 😕 Not had a colleague behave like that in a while so it came as quite a shock. Had a meeting with a new mentor straight afterwards, who I've only met once, and she was lovely although it was rather embarrassed to be crying at her when I don't know her well!
Fortunately I have a limited bit of work with this person and then I won't have to work ith her again, thankfully!
Right, must NOT let this derail what I was actually meant to be doing today 🙄11 -

Do you have Report and Support or similar? We have had such a problem we know are asked to send emails whenever we have witnessed or been the recipient of 'bad' behaviour - same names come up again and again. So sorry, and on a Monday too

Thanks both,
We do have Report & Support, although I don't really think this falls into that category - just someone getting on their high horse about something I thought we'd moved past but which they have been clearly stewing over. Hopefully speaking to my boss soon about how best to respond to get the outcome he wants without inflaming the situation 🙄 Stupidly enough, I think we WOULD have successfully moved on had not my boss made me ask this person for something that I would have just let go - but asking has prompted this snotty response about why we can't have it because I didn't do xyz well enough 🙄 Hadnt realised it was tit for tat but turns out I was on probation with them all along.
Hey ho. Won't be working with them again after this!8 -
oooo - I like the thought of Report & Support!
We have nothing similar and very toxic work culture. Unfortunately in our environment the higher ups like to be seen promoting Values & Ethics, but don't actually follow through in a timely manner when asked to resolve issues. My current nemesis is a passive aggressive bully, so I've had to resort to e-mails only & cc the bosses on every exchange. I'm too cynical & long in the tooth to believe anything will ever change! Like you Cheery, I choose not to work with him unless forced to and actively avoid any and all interaction! Life is waaaaaaay too short for unwanted drama!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
