Well today just gets better and better - we've discovered evidence of a rat under the kitchen sink 😱

I have a reasonable tolerance of mice (ours are usually field mice) but I have NO tolerance of a rat in the house 😱 everywhere is being scrubbed, traps are being set, and they've got to the end of the weekend before I call in the professionals 😱

Erm... you're not back. I'm hoping this doesn't mean the rat won.

Ha, oops, sorry, got sidetracked with things like breakfast and work 😂

No sign of the pesky thing - either in the trap or in any other form. Very mysterious.

Traps will remain set, and we will remain vigilant. Mr C is on tidying and disinfecting duties today!

Rats are very suspicious of new things, so it may take a while for it to get used to the trap rather than avoid it. You may want to invest in some poison (I don't like doing this as it's not good if they go outside to die and are eaten by wildlife, but it's fine if it's then unwell and you trap it) or invite a friend with a terrier over...
