Cheery's path to fulfilment - finishing the DIY, looking after myself, appreciating the garden 🌻

Cheery, I'm really sorry that you didn't get it, but tell myself it must have been for the best. I received similarly shoddy treatment from a Scottish government aligned organisation (even though I knew one of the bloody people on the panel) and it incensed me to the extent I told them to take me off their "if something else comes up" list. Might sound a bit like cutting off my nose to spite my face, but I didn't want to work somewhere they couldn't do the basics and I have never once regretted the decision!
Have a good weekend, another job will come along soon 🤞🏻6 -
Thank you all, you are so kind xxx
I think what was most galling was that I'd already told them how good their process was! 😂 I've emailed (a generic recruitment address) and asked for feedback, so I'll see if anything comes of that.
I do have an email for the chair of the panel (which i guessed, based on other emails in the organisation) - I'd sent my thank you email directly to her, and she responded to that on the same day with a very friendly message. So if I don't hear anything from HR within a week, I'll email her directly i think.
Anyway, we shared our first mince pie of the year this morning 😂😂 although as the day wears on I am definitely feeling in need of more of a sugar hit than half a mince pie provided 😂😂 Mr C has gone to the dentist, but having finished today's meetings, I'm considering ensconcing myself in a cafe for the afternoon, especially as most of the day involves reading now. Will leave it til 3.15 so it'll be quieter...9 -

Cake? 🤣themadvix said:Ouch! Something soft for tea for him then!
Sorry about the job, but the auto-reject is wrong. By that stage of the process you should have had a personal email from the recruiting manager. Having said that, all ours are sent out via the recruitment system and not from our own mailboxes, even though we write them.5 -
Oh Cheery - what a shoddy way to treat a candidate! I hope lots of cake and tea were had in consolation!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Sorry you didnt get the job. I think employers are getting more and more careless in the way people are treated. They need to learn their best resource is the staff and prospective ones. It isnt as though its hard to personalise an email.4

Thank you all, you're very kind, and it's nice to know I'm not just being ridiculous about the lack of personal communication.greenbee said:

Greenbee, sounds like your emails sound at least vaguely personal? This was literally generated by someone clicking 'no' in the application system, I suspect - thank you for applying, we're not progressing your application, if you want feedback email HR. I did email HR, and got an automatic response saying 'thank you for your interest in working for us! While you wait for our reply you might like to watch this video about how great it is to work for us!' 🙄😂 er, not right now, thank you!!
Hey ho. Cake has been had (by me) and I have whizzed round Mr A. £68 spent, but it was nice to do a proper shop for the first time in several weeks. Mr C arrived home just after I did, remarkably chipper for someone who had 7 fillings just 3 hours earlier - but he did pop to see a friend on the way home, and maybe he's still dosed up on anaesthetic. Anyway, he's put all the shopping away and hung the washing up and done the dishes so I'm not complaining! 😂
I've just finished work, and I'm going to work tomorrow to swap a day next week.
Finale of celebrity traitors this evening! 😂😂 I'd never watched any of any series of traitors, and hadn't even clocked their was a celebrity version, and probably would have been quite scathing if you'd asked. But I was looking for distraction last weekend after my interview when Mr C was away, and my sister suggested it 😂 I started, and by the end of the next day had watched the entire series 🙈 over the course of the week I also listened to all the connected 'uncloaked' podcasts (where people who've been booted out find out who the traitors are) and now I am very ready to watch the grand finale in an hour 😁😂😂
Mr C is not remotely interested, of course, although he has generously indulged my 'ooh, did you know what happened to so-and-so' all week (he did lose a few points for comparing me to his grandma watching the soap operas 😂😂)7 -
Sorry about the job and the way you were informed. Grrrr.7 fillings in one go? Wow, well done Mr C.I'm also (im)patiently waiting the final of Celebrity Traitors; like you Cheery, I've never watched a series of Traitors before but I've really enjoyed it. Alan has me in stitches.4
