Bimbling is indeed much needed today! I have had a nice lunch and am sat with an audio book and my crochet while Mr C has a nap 😊
Bot of balancing the new budget. Feels weird but I'm sticking with it.
Food & household budget currently has £307.12/£350
Diesel & parking has £290/£300
Joint treats has £190.35/£200
My spends has £136.20/£150
Mr C has opted to take £50 cash out of the bank and then not record what he spends it on (mostly in charity shops and on a newspaper occasionally or a coffee) - a wise approach. I've now got cash out to do the same, but I'm going to record mine this month at least, and see how we get on.
So far, so good.
We're going to see how we get on this month, and then we'll likely try to drop some of those budgets down a notch next month.
I suspect there will be some creative accounting though 🙄 I found another of those 2.5 litres of nice Faith in Nature shampoos in town today for £9.99 and we agreed it would come out of the food & household budget (as would deodorant, razors, normal toiletries etc). My C talked me into an outrageous pair of false eyelashes for this party tomorrow night for £1.49 - i didn't want to spend my own treats budget (they were HIS idea, after all 😂😂) so they've ended up coming out of the household budget as well 😂7 -
Creative accounting happens here too! As long as it all balances in the end and what’s saved doesn’t change, you’re winning.
It’s a good price for Faith in nature, so I’d have done the same.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

It works out at £1.60 for a 400ml bottle - far cheaper than anywhere else.
No conditioner though, and I've now started the second of two 400ml bottles bought last time (for £2.99 each). I'll have to remember to take the old bottle to see what they've got in the zero waste shop.4 -
I find our zero-waste shop very expensive for it, so buy bulk bottles of shower gel/shampoo, but I get through conditioner so slowly (and it goes lumpy) that I don't mind refilling at the zero-waste shop. (I've recently invested in the aluminium bottles and pumps for the condition and it does seem to stop it going gloopy.)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ah, thank you. I had a look on the website but they've only got bars on there for delivery, and I know they do the liquid in the shop. I'll put the bottle out now so I remember to take it to parkrun in the morning.
Having a small panic now as I'm making one of the Attic 24 blankets and have been getting each stage of the pattern from the website as I go. I've got five rows left til I need the next pattern stage - and the website has gone down 😱 As in the blog server has been discontinued, and they are in the process of transferring all the patterns and archives elsewhere but obviously that'll take time. I've tried the wayback machine thing, but the colour list i need appears as a photo and a pdf download- neither are loading and neither archived by the machine 🙄
So I shall have to be patient! Five rows to go (and annoyingly I've got quite a bit of time today so probably would have finished those)
Hey ho! I'll carry on for now then I'll just have to do one of my 87 million other craft project til everything appears again 😂😂7 -
Cheery - which attic24 blanket is it? Just in case anyone has the pattern - I've only made the Coastal blanket from Lucy's site - but was gearing up to make the Woodland blanket - I guess that will have to wait 😢

Greying XAnd fortunately someone has kindly posted a picture on the book of face so I have copied it down quick smart! Some of them are appearing on the way back site - have a look at the book of face post in the comments. Shouldn't be too long before it's up and running.

Lovely lazy afternoon with crochet and audio bookAnd then I checked Prolific, and ended up doing several studies on there, now sitting at £24.32 cleared and £4.55 pending (although I think will update - their own submissions list indicates I've done £25 worth this afternoon and they've all cleared, and I know I already had some cleared in there before then). A good start to the month! There was one there for about £20 but it was going to take an hour - I might have done it if I hadn't just done all the others, but I think it's time to move now!
So. A bit of tidying for ten mins, and then I'll get the IPL machine out, and hang the washing up (inside - although it might get moved outside in the morning). Might put another load on ready to go out tomorrow too. Sorted where we're staying tomorrow night, just need to sort what to wear to go with my eyelashes6 -
Ah, Prolific mystery solved - I was look at dolars and thinking about pounds 🙄 so unfortunately their figures are right, but it's still a decent haul this early in the month!7
