Ha, thank you! We'll see. I'm trying to treat it more like a chat with an interesting person I met at a conference rather than an interview. Will report back.
Anyway. Poor old Mr C rang several times, foiled by road closures that weren't appearing on the satnav, and diversions round accidents. He's still not back, but hopefully it won't be long now.
In the meantime I've been watching hair drying videos, trying to get my hair to look like it did when I stepped out of the salon 😂 Fared slightly better when I started watching one that showed someone doing her own hair, rather than a hairdresser prancing round the back of the head, seemingly with 3 hands 😂😂
Anyway, I have achieved a passable result which I'm quite pleased with 😃 And which I am now going to spoil by sleeping on it for several hours 🙄😂 It's all practice though, hey??5 -
I hope Mr C made it home relatively soon after your post - that’s a rough journey after a funeral.
Well done with the hair! Mine just stays long because I’m rubbish/lazy with drying it. I will do it in the winter, otherwise it’s a wild mess (and I have and use straighteners too), but in the summer it’s a case of tie it back when wet and that tames it ‘enough’! It’s a good job I don’t work somewhere I need to be well-groomed!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hair can be verytime consuming! I use product in mine and do it properly once a week with a flat iron then 2 min touch ups during the week. Even that is too much on a rushed commuting morning!
I went swimming last week in a chlorinated pool which dried it out! This now means the only way to wear it is wavy until a deep conditioning can be done on the weekend. Luckily no major meetings this week and 2 days working from home!

Thank you both x
Mr C eventually made it back about half 12, after many closed roads and several accidents 😕 I stupidly waited up, so this morning I'm quite tired, and have managed to leave both breakfast and lunch in the fridge (despite getting the milk out of the fridge to make a cuppa which I DID bring with me) 🤦♀️
So I'm braving a supermarket meal deal 🙄 Not ideal for frugal month - and also annoying because I had a £5 cafe voucher yesterday and figuring I wouldn't need lunch today, I spent it on cake! 😂
Driven and parked in town today, as I need to nip off to the dentist later (my appointment is at two-th-hirty 😂😂) so I'll go straight home after. At least I'll have a smoothie waiting for me! 😂5 -
Meal deal acquired, and with the addition of a pear it'll do breakfast and lunch for £4.50. Obviously scanning the pear took the more expensive snack out of my meal deal 🙄 but I started again and it was fine in the end.
What a waste of time! I parked nearly half an hour ago, but between walking down 9 flights of stairs out of the car park, going to a different building to scan my token for a discount, and messing in the supermarket, and now climbing UP several flights of stairs, I'm still not at my desk by 9am! Not an efficient use of the morning!
Hey ho, the day will get better, I can feel it!5 -
Oh Cheery, not the start you needed, but I’m glad you can feel your day will get better!

Sometimes needs must - a meal deal is better than no lunch or heaven forbid a 'not' meal deal which can be above 10 quid these days!
I do a weekly stock-take of coupons to see where I can get a cheap lunch from. B00ts and MrS are the winners so far & either do me for a very filling lunch or a light bf & a light lunch. Somehow though we don't typically eat at McD's, we did have a cheeky bf delivered to home during staycation and having done the follow-up survey, have acquired a lunch for 2.99 - I'm looking at the options & trying to pick a healthy one - looks like any of the offered sandwiches minus the sauces and a side salad instead of fries will fit the bill. I'm close to a large city location at work & I know they have salad.

Good to have options for bargain lunch!
Well, my meeting went ok I think. I suspect she was confused as to who I was at first 😬 and without preamble launched into interview-style questions wanting numbers and dates and details 😱 But it settled down - I reminded her that SHE had requested a meeting with me, and it went a bit more smoothly then. I liked her, we had a good chat, she's asked me to send an updated CV (although I'm not sure I can update much since she had the last one unfortunately 😬). Can't imagine anything will come of it but you never know!
Then whizzed to the dentist - and it was indeed a whizz as I was late 😬 fortunately they saw me anyway. I took the option to have it done without anaesthetic (I don't normally, this was just very straightforward filling of a hole), and having ummed and ahhed i chose the more expensive filling material, so it cost £177.50 (feel likei should have got a discount for the lack of anaesthetic!)
That's enough for today, I think. A decent night's sleep is in order. Mr Cheery just told me he's spend the whole day in his dressing gown (I don't blame him after the last couple of days) but is planning on getting dressed for when I get home, what an honour 😂7 -
It sounds like it was a worthwhile chat - she's got you on her radar now and probably won't forget who you are again! It might not lead to anything immediately, but next time you apply, it might help.Ouch to the filling without anaesthetic - you're braver than me!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
