Goodness me, we are doing well with sorting our books! Not even attempting all of them - just the ones that have been stored in the offshot for the last 18 months 🙄
One box for We Buy Books, parcelled up and I'm going to drop it off shortly. Another for Ziffit - their app keeps telling me I've lost connection and can't complete the trade, and I don't have another box anyway so that'll have to wait.
Between the two it comes to about £19
Then there are also five large bags for the charity shop 😱
Not entirely sure where we're putting the ones we're keeping - they're certainly not going back where they came from 😱
Mr Cheery will drop the charity shop ones on Monday, and I'll hopefully sorted the Ziffit ones by then too, so that'll be a large stash out if the door - at least 100 I'd say 😱
Bit of a job as being on the floor for so long they were all covered in cobwebs and worse, so needed a thorough cleaning before being bagged up. I am now in need of a thorough cleaning myself!
Tonight I'm going to hoover the space they came from, have a quick tidy round everywhere else, then drop this parcel off and do a quick food shop, before collapsing in a nice heap to watch a film, maybe with my IPL machine 😁10 -
Hi Cheery, if the app continues to play up you can log in to your account on a PC and complete a Ziiffitt trade that way too 😀4

Thank you both 😊 I've not heard of Zapper, will investigate.
Not tonight though! Didn't even get my WBB parcel posted 🙄 Drove all the way to the other side of town and realised I'd not taken a screenshot of the reference number, and as I was printing at the shop, I had literally no directions or instructions 😂 I don't do this often, and had forgotten that there is an ongoing issue with the phone mast in the town centre, which means I don't have any signal there at all 🙄 We don't have any kind of town WiFi, and this was just in a random residential area I don't know, so I chalked it up to experience and went to the supermarket instead.
Raining when I came out, and the journey home was ridiculous, it was like driving through some kind of cloudburst 😮 The roads were like rivers, and at one point I was quite startled as a massive flash of lightening lit up the whole sky 😮 At least my journey was short - Mr Cheery has over an hour's drive to get home tonight 🙄
Started defrosting the free,er with the steam cleaner this morning - it was going too slowly and I had to return it, so just left it defrosting itself, and did the final awkward bit just now with a hairdryer. The top shelf was almost entirely frosted over - now discovered several bags of home grown blackcurrants and gooseberries from 2022 🙄 Threw out some frozen rice, who knows how long that's been there, and rescued some parsnip soup which I'd been ignoring as I broke my own rule and put it in the freezer even though it wasn't very nice 😂 Did a bit if soup rescue though and we had it for lunch, so not wasted 😊
Shopping out away, freezer back in order, 5 bags of books ready for the charity shop, and I've run the hoover round downstairs and done the washing up. Quite exhausted now, so I think 10 mins of yoga and then straight to sleep!9 -

Evening MSE chums 😊
Not much to report. Had two days back in the office after my week off. Still not posted my parcel, maybe Thursday night or Friday, I think I've got til Saturday.
Had a slightly shirty standard letter from the dentist today - my last appointment was December (it was January, actually) and I've not returned to finish my course of treatment, so if I don't get in touch within 2 weeks I'll have to start again with another examination appointment 🙄
Oh, of course, silly me, I've just been sat around with my feet up eating bon bons while my poor abandoned dentist sobs quietly in the corner 🙄
If they'd actually looked at my records, they'd see that the reason my treatment isn't finished is because THEY REFERRED ME TO THE DENTAL HOSPITAL and, presumably, I am still on the waiting list 3 months later, despite my referral being 'urgent' 🙄 So they'll be getting a slightly shirty phone call in response tomorrow 🙄
Sigh.
Anyway, our month of decluttering is going well! We've been focusing on books, starting with the pile by the back door, but moving on to other areas. A box parcelled up and in the car for WBB, a bag ready to box up for Ziffit, and Mr Cheery took 6 bags to the charity shop today 😱
I've just done 15 mins sorting of a pile of paperwork this evening too - those bank switches don't half generate some letters 😱 Mostly just sorting into piles by organisation today, and throwing away envelopes & obvious rubbish - I'll file properly another day. April is all about getting stuff OUT of the house!
Nothing else to report. Lunch and snacks are ready for work tomorrow, need to whizz up a smoothie shortly for breakfast. We're both going to town tomorrow so we'll travel together - convenient as I don't have a parking permit so this will save me a few quid on parking too.
Right, best get that smoothie made i suppose!13 -
Rang dentist. I was referred on 16th Jan, they told me to ring dental hospital to check referral. Apparently I've been on the list for 12 weeks - and they have a 28 week waiting list, at which point they'll send a letter so you can ring and book, which means I won't be seen til some point in August 🙄
Hey ho. I suppose I should be grateful there are dentistry services at all. Just slightly annoyed as this has been dragging on for about 18 months now, 18 months of me not being able to eat properly on that side of my mouth, and now I can't eat properly on the other because of a different problem that they can't fix until they've fixed this.
But I guess the end result of all this work will be a plate with a couple of false teeth on, so I should probably enjoy the last few months with my own teeth, however infected and troublesome they are 🙄6 -
I'd call the dentist back and ask them to update your notes with the information the hospital gave you. That way next time someone's told to write a letter to you and they bring up your file, the fact that you've still got months until you get an appointment will be pretty clear."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

I might do that later, yes. The dentist receptionist did say she could see I'd been referred in Jan, and that they knew there was a 25 week waiting list, so clearly this was just spewed out automatically 🙄4

Sighing over the excuse of "automatically sent" letters which then just annoy/upset/irritate people because they aren't relevant to them. It's an incredibly poor use of resources, not least they time then has to be spent explaining that it was sent automatically...
