I'm really not doing well with my membership. Must persevere.
I've started a new job and back up to five days so set up savings for the additional money. Thanks, I think, to you one with the coop.2 -

So, a productive admin morning so far.
* managed to make an overseas payment for a membership fee for Mr Cheery. Wanted to do this through his PayPal, but the account that's linked to is closed, and can't link to the main account as that's joint, and already has my PayPal linked to it. Added complication - he changed his surname and PayPal still has his old one 🙄 So this required considerable messing, but is now done, and linked to another joint account we have.
* Dosh retrieved from Mr Cheery's TSB account, so as the incentive has already been paid, and we can't meet the cashback conditions because of the card not working over the last couple of days, that's now ready for the next switch.
* some dosh retrieved from Mr C's NWest account. Switch incentive still not arrived, but they did say within 7 days of money being in for 24 hours, so that won't be til Wednesday. Mine arrived more quickly, but there may only be payment runs on specific days, and obviously it's Bank Holiday. Once that's arrived, that'll be ready for the next switch.
There's one switch still available that we've not done, so that might be a job for today (although I confess I am quite bored of financial admin at this point!)
We've fallen into a pattern over the years of me doing it all 🙄 Mr C had one account for years, and I've come along and done all kinds of things like changing car insurance etc, which he never would have bothered with. Fine - but we're risking a situation where if anything happens to me, it'll be a right old faff for him to figure out where everything is. NOT a good plan.
So I'm systematically documenting everything now, and getting the filing system in order. The bare bones are there, but everything got quite scruffy with this flurry of switches - they seem to generate a lot of post!!
Yesterday's hay box lentil soup for lunch (curried, with coconut, very tasty).
Right, I'll go and investigate the next switch I think - then I can spend the afternoon doing more cheerful things!5 -
Pah, shall I tell you what's super annoying? You know Mr Cheery's TSB card that wouldn't work?? That's because it's the wrong card 🙄 They must have sent a replacement (no idea why, can't remember) - he's just found the right one in his wallet - I'd given him the one that was stored with the banking stuff, forgetting there was another. Most vexing, as we've now lost the cashback opportunity for that account. Hey ho,it was only £20.
On the other hand, I did a full sweep of YNAB today, updating all accounts, not just the main ones, and realised I'd not incorporated £175 of FD switch money from January into the budget, or £16.73 of interest from a regular saver 😊 So that's a nice start to April's extra cash - I know it was received earlier, but if it's not in YNAB, it's not allocated within the budget..
Oh, and I withdrew 78p of cleared cashback from buying some printer ink 😂6 -
Ah - should have checked my own lists - set up a 2nd TSB for the purposes of a switch 🙄 Foiled by my own attempts at cleverness!5

Thank you for reminding me about vouchers. I had a £25 John Lewis one that I got from the 'post-survey-where-they-pay-you-in-stamps' waiting to spend on a lamp I'd had my eye on. Went to JL website to find that there was 20% off the lamp and with the voucher it's brought it down to half price. So I've bought it. Even though I have nowhere to put it right now, as we're all up in the air moving stuff around in the house to accommodate the builders when they arrive in June. <happy MSE dance>

Ooh, excellent work!
After swimming this morning I've realised I need a new cossie - mine is rather thin and see through in places 😱 Not too bad round the bust area as there's a padded bit underneath, but there's no additional padding in the seat area 😱
Annoyingly, if I'd realised, I could probably have used that voucher I spent in the body shop the other day! Hey ho.5 -
Gosh I am just full of financial waffling today! 😱 Trying to get all the financial admin out of the way today while I have Mr Cheery and his phone here for verification purposes.
* Set up a new San-der account for myself and switched in. Should be £185 if/when it goes through, and also £25 through TCB. Annoyingly this is another one that you have to wait for 2-3 months for the incentive, so that means if I want to do another switch before then, both that and TSB are out if action for me, so I'd need a new one. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, running out of places to switch to now!
* Doing the same for Mr Cheery, and have discovered he's never clicked the authentication email for TCB, and that he seems to have £30, in there! Wil get him to do that shortly - hopefully that will also trigger a referral payment for me (I wondered why that had never appeared). Hopefully that £30, whatever it was from, is payable. I guess we'll find out!
In non-MSE news, we have booked ourselves a night at the seaside this week 😃 Bizarrely, it seems that some friends might be at the same seaside on the same night 😂 If so, we'll meet for dinner, and if not, we'll eat a takeaway on the beach as planned 😂
Will this be the end of today's admin, once Mr Cheery's cashback and new account are sorted?! I flippin hope so 🙄😂 My thinking is that if I get it all done today while I'm on a roll, I can move onto other things tomorrow!11 -

I am indeed, although I think I need to be rolling into bed at this point!! 😂😂
Mr Cheery's TCB account sorted - £20 of that cashback was for the spoiled TSB offer, so that won't track, but the other £10 was the referral, so that should do, and it's triggered £25 to mine too so that's good. Won't go through properly til he's earned and cashed out £10 though 🙄 so ordered a £5 supermarket voucher to take advantage of today's £2 cashback on a £5 purchase offer.
* back to my TCB account. I need a new swimming costume, so bought a basic one through there, which should get me today's £2 offer plus maybe another £1. Should be here Friday. £13.98 spent including delivery.
* used the rest of my book token at Blackwells (thank you @VintageHistorian - I think!) - had to spend another £6 but at least I did it on the Amex card for additional cashback
* Mr Cheery's San-der acc set up and running, switch in progress.
YAWN. I have officially HAD ENOUGH of financial admin today. Very satisfying to get all that sorted and out the way though!
Tomorrow I'm here alone, and there will be NO FINANCIAL ADMIN WHATSOEVER. None. I will be pottering about the house, decluttering, finishing Mr Cheery's hat, and hanging out in the garden if it shops raining for five minutes 😂9
