Cheery's path to fulfilment - finishing the DIY, looking after myself, appreciating the garden 🌻

So, a final round up of the day
2-2.45pm GARDEN
✅ snip off bit of metal fence that sticks out through the ivy - will need to go back for the thicker strands, but there are only 3
✅ measure greenhouse panes for replacement
❌ possibly replace the two plastic ones that blew out but are still intact - far too cold and wet and windy to mess about!
2.45-3.30 FINANCES
✅ bit of shuffling between accounts
✅ see if we can find Mr Cheery's Visa Secure password - pretty sure it's written down somewhere, but where?! If not, he'll need to ring
✅ quick YNAB reconciliation
3.30-5.30 HOME
✅ finish sorting books from offshot
❌ hoover offshot
❌ parcel up books for Ziffit and arrange collection - up to £8.97, going to try to get to £10 before we trade
❌ decide what to do with rest of books to go out (charity shop, or book bank at the tip?) - might need to be a bit of both, some aren't in a great state
❌ wield the steam cleaner - I've done the main bits with plaster etc on, so the rest should be easier - sadly this is going to have to be a Friday evening job now!
5.30-6.30 FOOD
✅ tea
❌ possibly batch cooking something for freezer
6.30-8.30 CHEERFUL
❌ find pictures if Mr Cheery's dad's dog to print
✅blog post
✅ finish altering hat
✅ workout
* pack bag for night at the seaside 😃
Not too bad. Also had a chat with my dad and arranged to visit tomorrow morning, set up the LPG online account, and did a bit more sitting around than I'd planned... 🙄😂 Will pack bag shortly.
Need to leave before 8am tomorrow, preferably around 7.30. Want to be at the seaside for lunchtime, which means leaving my dad's by 11, and I don't want to just run in and run back out. Friends are also at the same seaside so we're going to join them for tea 😊 Mr Cheery has a gig Friday night, so we'll need to leave the seaside 3pm at the absolute latest really to get home in time for him to go out again, so it'll be a brief but hopefully cheerful visit! 😊6 -

Thanks TDQ 😊
We had a lovely time, although not entirely what we originally planned. Popped to see my dad on the way over, he's looking a bit more chipper which is good. Wandered round town, had lunch, checked into hotel, and then met up with our friends who were bizarrely in the same place at the same time 😂 Once we knew we were going to be in the same town, they booked into the hotel next door 😂 Their room stank of cigarette smoke and was quite grim 😱 but they did eventually managed to get something more acceptable. We'd gone a little more posh than we usually do, and were rewarded with eyemasks, ear plugs, slippers, a posh coffee machine, a fridge, and a telescope 😂
Anyway, had a rather later night than planned in the local Spoons, and it was lovely to wander back along a deserted seafront after midnight.
What was less lovely was the workmen on the prom starting the pneumatic drill at 6.50am 😱 I didn't bother getting out of bed, but our friends said they weren't even working at that point, one was just 'testing' the drill at the back of the van, laughing, I imagine, at waking up the holidaymakers 🙄
Drive home was tedious with roadworks and broken down lorries and general post-Easter Friday afternoon traffic. Mr Cheery has a gig, I planned all kinds of shenanigans but actually just lay on the sofa for 2 hours, then spent almost 2 hours wielding the blithering steam cleaner, which has to go back to the Library of Things tomorrow.
Still, I've done the dining room bit now, which was the main problem. The biggest issue is the blobs of plaster - MUCH easier to get up with this - so I'm focusing on those. General grime will be better done with a tub of pink stuff paste and some elbow grease 🙄 So I'm going to do what I can in the kitchen bit (less of an issue as I did that bit so they could put the kitchen in - just got one edge to do).
So, a list for tomorrow... (bearing in mind what I need most is SLEEP before I go back to work...)
* finish with the steam cleaner
* meal planning
* take back to the Library of Things
* food shopping
* finish sorting and scanning books and arrange collection (and possibly even take the rest to charity shop/book bank - would be fantastic to get them out of the house)
* hoover offshot
Not planning anything else. Mr Cheery has another gig - I'm considering going to tomorrow's, but will assess tiredness. Sunday is my last day off work, and we're going to his dad's - 5-6 hours of driving plus a full day of as much hard labour as possible as his dad is currently out of the way on a coach trip...
Even writing that is making me tired - I might need tomorrow night off! 😂13
