We are having a decluttering month in April 😱 I have started proceedings with some books, which have been in piles on the floor by the back door for about 18 months. Sorting into keep, get rid, maybe keep, and not mine 😂 I'm scanning the get rid pile for Ziffit as I go - up to about £2.48 so far 😂 The rest will be going back to charity shops, once Mr Cheery has made decisions about his.
Not tonight though!8 -
After MSE chums 😊
Pleased to report I did precisely NO financial admin yesterday 😂 Had a lovely walk to a new (to me) nature reserve in the morning - utterly lovely to have the hills mostly to myself, and ended at a little waterfall which was very cheerful 😊 Lots of wildlife, and rounded off at a cafe at the end 😊
It was only about 1.5 hours walk, but I was pretty tired by the end, and spent the whole afternoon watching the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice while sewing Mr Cheery's new hat (which was meant to be a Christmas present...). Finished it, but it does need a slight adjustment now he's tried it on, so that's a job for this afternoon.
We've had a pottering morning in town today, but need to finish with the steam cleaner today as it needs to go back on Saturday and we're away tomorrow and Friday.
Didn't win the premium bonds, but delighted to report that Mr Cheery's NW bank switch has paid out, so that's another £200 to go into the pot 😃9 -
Ooh, and there's £6.86 payable in TCB for the travel insurance 😊 I've got almost another £100 still pending in there for various things (holiday- ferry, cottage etc), bank switches etc but I imagine most of that will take several more months...4

My word just look at you go with all this extra money being earned - although I have to say that I think you fully deserved your day free of financial admin stuff after all that!
Doesn't look like we got anything on the PBs this month either - I must have a chat with MrEH about starting to build that pot back up again mind you as we've got almost nothing in PB's at the moment - although in fairness of the £290 we do have, £200 of that was winnings after we took the big chunk out ready for the house purchase!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Yes, we've only got £500 in there at the minute. We won an awful lot more before we paid for all the building work! 😂
Back home now, and lazing about a bit. I need a plan for the rest of the day!
2-2.45pm GARDEN
* snip off bit of metal fence that sticks out through the ivy
* measure greenhouse panes for replacement
* possibly replace the two plastic ones that blew out but are still intact
2.45-3.30 FINANCES
* bit of shuffling between accounts
* see if we can find Mr Cheery's Visa Secure password - pretty sure it's written down somewhere, but where?! If not, he'll need to ring
* quick YNAB reconciliation
3.30-5.30 HOME
* finish sorting books from offshot
* hoover offshot
* parcel up books for Ziffit and arrange collection
* decide what to do with rest of books to go out (charity shop, or book bank at the tip?)
* wield the steam cleaner - I've done the main bits with plaster etc on, so the rest should be easier
5.30-6.30 FOOD
* tea
* possibly batch cooking something for freezer
6.30-8.30 CHEERFUL
* find pictures if Mr Cheery's dad's dog to print
* blog post
* finish altering hat
* workout
* pack bag for night at the seaside 😃
Then possibly a bath, or maybe a film, or maybe both 😊 Oh, and I need to ring my dad, will do that now while I'm sorting the garden 😊
Ready, steady, GO!4 -
Enjoy the seaside
Mind you, you could go paddling here with the amount of blooming rain.

Yep, here too Beanie! 😮
Progress is being made, although the order is shifting somewhat to accommodate naps and baths 😂 Snipped some of the fence, but the tool i was using wouldn't go through the bigger wires and then it started absolutely bouncing down, so I came back in 🙄
Spoke to my dad - we're going to pop in for a cuppa on the way to the seaside tomorrow morning. Can't remember if I mentioned he had his big toe amputated earlier this week 🙄 Not ideal, but will hopefully make him more mobile once it's healed a bit.
Dosh retrieved from Mr Cheery's account, password possibly remembered, but won't know til he tries to pay for something online and gets asked for it. LPG switch paperwork arrived, so I've registered to manage it online and placed an order. Let's see if they can find us, and if they send a tanker that can't fit down the drive... 🙄
Right, Mr Cheery has gone for a nap, and in a bid to remain relatively quiet, I am in the hat-and-blog-post phase of the day 😊😊7 -
Oh, and my new swimming costume arrived. The old one had sized cups, adjustable straps and flattering rouching - this one is pretty bog standard in comparison but given that all I ever do is swim at the local pool, it's fine, and was only £13 including postage (the last one was far more expensive, although it did last years - partly because I don't swim much 😂)5
