I've had a bone graft in my jaw - it was pretty uneventful. Can't recommend a gum graft though. I've had two of those and both were miserable.5

The butcher was actually a very nice man but my mother was an extremely good looking woman & didn't want him to feel encouraged as she couldn't help herself but to be really nice to people. They were always around her like flies, even in her 80s there was the 50 year old & she just smiled. The only one she ever took seriously was my father & that to me was always known as the battle of the roses. As in Lancs/Yorks.

Well, I have had a good bit of customer service already this morning! I had an email from somewhere i order from every couple of months offering free delivery on the first order I placed through their app. Downloaded app, placed order, but it didn't adjust the delivery amount - as it was late at night and I didn't want to delay ordered anyway. Contacted support and they have just refunded, no quibble.
Obviously, that's how it should be, but even so!
On the cards for today
* cuppa in the garden 😊
* 10 mins straightening each room - things have gotten rather higgledy piggledy with clean washing, things to be parcelled for Ziffit etc
* run the hoover round
* parcel books for Ziffit
* log into new switched accounts and check conditions
* quick YNAB reconciliation
* play flute for a bit
* work on my little video
* band rehearsal at 4pm
* bit of batch cooking
Mr Cheery and I said we'd go for a walk at some point but he's got some stuff that has to be done today so we'll take that as it comes. I have actually done my NHS -recommended amount of exercise this week (for the first time in years, I suspect 🙄) so I'm not going to worry if we don't go!8 -

Loving @badmemory your tales of your sister not being allowed in the butcher as she wouldn’t play the game
what a lovely memory re your mum
sorry on all your dental issues Cheery - I have had 2 implants and they had to use a special drill that collected the extra bone that came off the drill (extra £800) and then mix it with my own blood - !! I went over 100 miles outside London as cheaper and the dentist actually lectures on implants so he was v experienced. Can give you his details if you need - was just under £5k for 2 ..
however it is so worth it - some healing then sorted for decades - mine look great and no issues
I now floss every night as I ate a lot of sweetsDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Sorry Cheery last implant post
LWAP £5k for 2 implants? How many crowns?
I have paid £6,400 for 3 implants but each has 2 crowns so 6 teeth gain
Would have been cheaper if I didn't need the bone graft
Mine also lectures worldwide and has actually shown my case as it was so complicated/tricky/very near the sinus
Definitely worth it, I was at the stage of only being able to eat with my front teeth which was going to wreck them5 -
badmemory said:Paspatur said:@badmemory have you ever had a gum infection?
I had to have a bone graft for my dental implants on one side but not the other side
The damage dates back to an infection caused by a piece of apple peel getting stuck between 2 back teeth (30 years ago)
Despite me seeing the dentist within 24 hours (the good old days) I lost 2 teeth and suffered bone lossSeveral abcesses mostly caused by broken roots of my teeth. Also many of my second teeth came up with fault lines just above the gum line. I believe a lot of my tooth problems were caused by scarlet fever at a very young age which also caused a long stay in an isolation hospital. I couldn't believe it when I read that now you stay at home on antibiotics. Family history makes all this teeth stuff very interesting. My sister can't understand why only I have teeth problems as no-one else in the family does including DS who has only ever had one tooth filled even now in his 40s.Can't blame sweets as they were rationed for quite a while, but not as long as meat I don't think. My mother wouldn't go in the butchers without me as he liked to chat her up & we liked the nice meat he gave her, my younger sister was never invited as she wouldn't smile on command, I learnt early which side my bread was buttered. Sexism in action.
Sympathies to all on here with tooth trouble - and sorry for the hijack of your great diary, Cheery, on which I usually have an enjoyable lurk9 -
Morning all 😊
So sorry there are so many of us with grim or grumbly dental issues!
To bring us back to something more cheerful, the sun is shining here this morning 😊 There's a cold north wind, which I hope doesn't mean we'll have snow like in the nursery rhyme. I am sitting on the swing in the garden, listening to a very vocal wren and what the excellent Merlin app reliably tells me is a willow warbler. Current view:
Sadly I myself am in the shade! The sun must have climbed just a little higher since I sat here at this time last week, and is behind the tree trunk. I might have to shift a little higher myself to the other seat - that one doesn't swing but it is at least sunny...
... OK, move executed, although not as satisfying as I expected - sunny but also more breezy!
Gosh, there's no pleasing me this morning, is there?! 😂
I've been having a quick sort through my seed box this morning. I've decided I'm not growing any veg this year - I've had several years of growing and either failing, failing to plant out, or failing to harvest, and it's very demoralising. Instead, I'm going to just throw flower seeds into the veg beds and have a year of getting up to speed on garden projects - seating areas, fixing things, pruning and the like. I already feel lighter for having made the decision.
Anyway, the upshot is I have LOADS of veg seeds that I've acquired either from other people offloading their stash, or from my own stash. Some are a couple of years old, some from last year, and I'd rather pass them on - annoyingly I missed the local seed swap. I'm going to stick them on Freegle I think, but do shout if you want any before I do that. I'm not listing them all (!) but there are all the usual things - cabbage, leek, kale, tomatoes, salads, beans etc.
Right, I'm going to have to head back inside, fingers are getting chilly and there's work to be done. I might do some washing - there's a blanket that's rather fusty after being in the car, and I'm eyeing up Mr Cheery's dressing gown - I think the breeze is strong enough today to get it dry quickly.
Oh, and I need to search for a parcel that the company insists Royal Mail left in a safe place yesterday - Mr Cheery was in all day, and there was other post in the porch as usual, but not this (it would have easily fit in the porch, and they didn't knock on the door). Where is it?! 🤔12 -
Sometimes just making the decision to do less is very freeing.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!8
