So. Some progress this evening!
* paid car tax
* rang gym and got myself re-set so I can log in
* sent a text inviting a family member to help me use my free national trust day pass
* did a bit more pottering and sorting in the craft room
* sewed up several moth holes in my cashmere turtle doves gloves. Some bits were more hole than glove so they're a bit wonky now but not on the way out yet!
* investigated complaints process for tyres people - it's either live chat (which was shut) or a phone call (also shut) so that'll need to wait 🙄 No email, presumably to encourage you to think 'can't be bothered ringing' and give up 🙄 Sadly I am quite persistent, although it might have to wait til Friday!
Mr Cheery has been pottering in the living room, having a sort out of shelves and ornaments.
And there's a mouse hanging out in the offshot, but given the snow I'm not relocating it so it can have another day or two reprieve 😂
(Definitely not winning any housekeeper of the year awards here 😂)
Right, off to bed shortly. Will need to get up early to make a decision about driving to work...8 -

Still. Mr C has fixed the lights (and also changed the bulbs), we've untied the rope (I assumed nobody was still moving cows in the dark but I suppose we'll find out 😂).
Well done on getting the niggly stuff done and the mouse probably quite happy they get a night indoors.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I’ve just drove from Bradford on the M62 and the cars were crawling along, roads really not good. I ended up abandoning my car half way up a hill and walking the last mile homeSealed pot challenge 822

Bearing in mind even all the way down here I drove to work this morning through sleet, then proper snow, and then more sleet, I am guessing that your decision about driving to work was "don't!" It is also proper cold out there - a real biting chill!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

It was 10 degrees warmer at home than here in the city! I got of the train this morning to a biting chill! Got into the office and OH sent a message to say the temperature had plummeted and it was sleeting! Cosy season has arrived!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Yep, after a bit of dithering I decided not to go in. I walked out to the main road (which is still a pretty small B road 😂) and it wasn't too bad, but was still quite slushy.
I actually think we could have made it... and in other circumstances I may have attempted it. But I was going in for a one hour class, and Mr C was meant to be driving 2.5 hours to his dad's, and we decided it wasn't worth the risk. Put the class online, Mr C postponed his visit to tomorrow, and we are nice and cosy 😊5 -
OK, made a complaint about yesterday's incident 🙄 Live chat not working so I had to ring. The guy I spoke to was actually really nice and helpful. He went through to the mobile fitting team, and came back with an offer from them of 10% of the order (so £18) 🙄 He did seem quite embarrassed and all but told me not to accept it 😂 Anyway, it's been escalated now. I'm not bothered about compensation for me (although Mr C wanted the whole order refunded). I want them to adequately compensate the farmer, because without him, the guy would have been stuck in our lawn for probably another couple of hours and would have missed most of the rest of the day's orders.
Anyway, someone's going to email me so we'll see what happens...
(And we'll get something for the farmer too, although goodness knows what - but I do want them to recognise him too!)4
