I've had horrible back pain for a few days, probably as a result of raking leaves and carting compost (and weeding!). I decided to do some scything today and not only did it not aggravate the problem, it seems to have improved it - I guess the movement has helped free up some of the stiffness!5
-
I'm sure it is the hip wiggling that does it.The advantage (to me anyway) is that the gel goes right to the spot so is quicker but I don't think as long lasting as ibuprofen itself, but then there are no limits on usage. Plus of course the doctor told me I shouldn't be taking the tablets due to a very long term dodgy stomach. Whoops!4

Ha greenbee, I certainly do think a bit of gentle exercise can alleviate stiffness (especially when it's brought on by exercise in the first place) but I shan't be attempting scything in my current state 😮 Far more likely to have my leg go from under me and land on the darn thing in this state 🙄
Electric from yesterday, all over the place, and more expensive than the flexible tariff for the first time since we switched. Friends came round at 5pm and we made tea - it was mostly salady stuff, I think the only cooked things were boiled eggs and halloumi. We did drink a lot of tea though and heated lots of milk for coffee in the microwave 😂
Interestingly, having my electric heater on in the study in the morning is still pretty cheap. Hard to compare to sticking the central heating on as we don't have itemised LPG meter, but pretty cheap.
Tomorrow's rates have just appeared... Will report back...

I actually tried CBD drinks last time I had a bad back and they helped - I think the slight relaxing effect stopped me tensing and making things worse.4

Sorry to hear the ongoing back issues, your daily yoga will eventually mean you stop getting flare ups but for me it’s remembering to do it daily when I am not in pain !Acupuncture really helped me in the short term but I am also aware this is a long term issue so I doing some yoga right this minute as I don’t want it to get worse in my decades aheadDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Another vote for ibuprofen gel - either prescription strength or at the least the one they keep behind the pharmacy counter....I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £204 -

Thank you all 😊 Pleased to report i am much more mobile today, despite having spent about 3.5 hours in the car 🙄
Mr Cheery was here on his own yesterday til about 9pm, looks like he barely even put the kettle on 😂 I suspect the late night spike was me doing hot water bottle and wheat bag at the same time 😂
Rates have been more reasonable today, and will be again tomorrow I think (peaking just under 40p). I've been out all day again though, and will be out most of tomorrow too, so no making the most of it!
Not much to report. Tiresome day at work, didn't finish til 9.45pm. Taken the compost and recycling out in the dark. Going away for a night tomorrow, need to leave home about 11am, couldn't face packing today though so will have to do it tomorrow.
Gig and hotel are already paid for, will just need food (including breakfast, which I didn't book in the hotel)6 -
Morning chums 😊
Yesterday's consumption wasn't too bad overall, but putting the oven on at teatime does create a rather dramatic spike in a day of nothing else 😬
Still, in the grand scheme of things, that £1 (ish) frozen pizza cost less than 50p to cook, so it was still a pretty reasonable dinner between the two of us 🙈 and it meant I could continue working til 9.45 - although that's not something I want to facilitate too often!
Off on adventures today, best get a shift on if I want to leave on time...
