I'm sure it is the hip wiggling that does it.
The advantage (to me anyway) is that the gel goes right to the spot so is quicker but I don't think as long lasting as ibuprofen itself, but then there are no limits on usage.  Plus of course the doctor told me I shouldn't be taking the tablets due to a very long term dodgy stomach.  Whoops!

Ha greenbee, I certainly do think a bit of gentle exercise can alleviate stiffness (especially when it's brought on by exercise in the first place) but I shan't be attempting scything in my current state 😮 Far more likely to have my leg go from under me and land on the darn thing in this state 🙄

Electric from yesterday, all over the place, and more expensive than the flexible tariff for the first time since we switched. Friends came round at 5pm and we made tea - it was mostly salady stuff, I think the only cooked things were boiled eggs and halloumi. We did drink a lot of tea though and heated lots of milk for coffee in the microwave 😂

Interestingly, having my electric heater on in the study in the morning is still pretty cheap. Hard to compare to sticking the central heating on as we don't have itemised LPG meter, but pretty cheap.

Tomorrow's rates have just appeared... Will report back...

  • I actually tried CBD drinks last time I had a bad back and they helped - I think the slight relaxing effect stopped me tensing and making things worse.

I have some (low dose) diazepam which does that when my back is bad. Combined with prescription strength cocodamol and a wheat bag and I can normally manage most of a night asleep. (Cocodamol makes me very fuzzy headed and spacey, so I can't really take it and do anything productive! 🤣)

Another vote for ibuprofen gel - either prescription strength or at the least the one they keep behind the pharmacy counter....

Not a fan of the diazapam.  I take it to try & relax the muscles.
