Oh Cheery you poor thing. I'm glad that you at least managed to sleep reasonably well, and really hope that your planned self-care brings pain-relief and puts you on the road to recovery.

Hope your back is better.I’ve been on agile now for a year. At Xmas last year it was cheap as schools, industry shut and generally windy.We are heavy users (solar, batteries, air source heap pump and a plug in hybrid) but agile worked out at an average of 12.60 p per KWH over the year. I’ve swopped my mum over and without her understanding of doing load shifting she’s saving about a third. If it’s really cheap I message her the day before to tell her when to run the washer, DW, hoover etcSealed pot challenge 822

Oh! No need to remember the laptop, they've sent a new one! No message - I had a notification about a parcel this morning which is why I checked the backmarket website, but when there was nothing there I assumed it was something else I've ordered. But nope.
Anyway, it's here now. I assume we get another 12 month warranty since it's a new refurbished one but will check...5 -

No idea - Mr C has opened it, and now disappeared. It looks like exactly the same laptop to me, but he said it was a different one, so I assume it's either new or wiped.
No documentation with it, and no message on the website either, what a mystery!4 -
Always nice to have one less thing to worry about. I was actually quite relieved yesterday to have lost a bid on ebay & was a little surprised at myself.

Thank you all for popping in and sympathising and chatting energy use 😊😊😊
A mostly restful day today, a morning bath, sitting around watching Escape to the Chateau (always makes me want to get on with projects 😂). We nipped out for a cuppa this afternoon and failed to return my library books, but we did pick up some reduced silicone freezer bags in the supermarket - not used them before so a bit of an experiment.
Mr C is out for the evening now, and I'd like to do a bit of tidying up... but also moving VERY slowly... Had a meal from the freezer for tea, so just a bit of microwaving in peak time (just to warm up, I'd left it out to defrost). Have chopped up the next batch of apples so I'll put those on to stew once it gets to 7.30pm and the electric rates go down 😂
I was going to make more jam but don't have jars to hand. I suspect there's some in an outbuilding, but even I'm not daft enough to go rummaging in the outbuildings in the dark with a bad back when there isn't another human for half a mile 🙄😂
So. A little list, more to select from than with the aim of getting everything done...
* Banking/YNAB
* tidy kitchen
* blog post
* bit of flute practice
* another bath?
* yoga
* run the hoover round kitchen/offshot/study - it's already down here so doesn't need lifting, but even dragging might be too much, we'll see.
Mr C is going to see his dad tomorrow and we've decided 6 hours in the car and a day of cleaning will NOT be good for me right now, so I'll have the day here to focus on resting 😊8 -
OK, progress. I'm actually not too bad once I'm up and pottering, although I can't go quickly, so having levered myself out of a chair earlier I decided to stay up for a while 😂 Pottered about tidying the kitchen, and while the pan of apples was stewing I chopped another pan's worth - they've gone in the freezer raw, probably destined for apple and blackcurrant jam.
There's still another load of apples in the bag but I must have peeled and chopped at least 50 today so the rest can wait. I know I could store them as they are, but the mice are starting to come in again and it's a bit of a losing battle with them anyway, without providing a massive bag of apples as a temptation! So into the freezer they will go (the apples, not the mice).
Also put out a jug of water to de-chlorine overnight - I'm going to attempt apple scrap vinegar tomorrow I think. Nothing to lose since I am awash with apple peel and cores anyway!
I did managed to push the hoover round the lower half of downstairs (kitchen/dining room, study, offshot) so that's good. I'll get Mr Cheery to carry it up the steps in the morning so I can do living room/bathroom tomorrow.
Might attempt half an hour of flute playing, then I'll be on the sofa I think for a blog post, some bank-fettling, and a snooze in front of the TV 😊
In more specifically MSE news, I did a couple of 1P surveys earlier, a 90p Prolific thing, and made £20.87 on the Happy Wheel 😊7 -
Morning all,
A grey one here, but there's a slight breeze and it's not raining, so I've got the washing machine on. Didnt catch the cheapest electric, but I'll have half an hour at 19p, half an hour at 22p, so that'll have to do.
Mr C is off to visit his dad, although he was meant to be leaving an hour ago and has gone back to bed as he's so tired. So it may be that he ditches it altogether, we'll see.
I'm having a gentle morning, but over the course of the day I'd like to...
* hang the washing out
* finish the banking
* another blog post (trying to write every day in November)
* yoga (trying to do that every day too)
* a gentle walk
* bit of flute practice
* hoover the rest of downstairs
* happy wheel & surveys
* ponder birthday present for nephew
* process the rest of the apples
* attempt apple scrap vinegar
* wash out stash of jars
* make apple and blackcurrant jam!
Might not get all that done, especially if Mr Cheery doesn't go on his trip 😂
But first, I'm going to attempt a shower... wish me luck...8 -
