Compost bin lifted off compost (and it was way faster to type it than it was to do it - much leverage was involved) top of pile ruturned to repostioned bin; bottom of pile shovelled into a bucket (numerous bucketsful) and tipped onto garden. Patio swept and garden clogs and patio now drying; hopefully I can sweep again later, and brush the layer of compost from the clog soles.
rest of laundry ironed, lots brought upstairs
Round lots of spoons and hugs but glad you have a new motor.
A fairly occupied day today although not all flying.
- gym swim
- one load through DW or maybe that was yesterday
- scant cleaning of en suite
- wudupa
- made 2 cakes for this evening's church group; both tasted ok but the carraway and lemon one looked a bit of a shambles.
- finished and emailed a report. Started another. Paperwork prepared for tomorrow and Thursday's assessments.
- booked lunch for the day we arrive in London, having started sorting cashback from TCB to pay for it.....in the confirmation of booking email they have given me one main meal free! Whether they will honour that if I'm using the TCB 'restaurant card' as well remains to be seen.
- drum practice
- pay claim filled in and sent off.
and just got back from church group.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
Sorry to hear all that's been going on @roundtuit - that's an awful lot to 'process' in one go. At least there is some good news in there.Didn't check in yesterday but did minimal flying. Today I went to the shops to get a few things I'd forgotten, or didn't know I needed, from today's order and also collected a couple of things from the dry cleaner. For some reason I thought I paid when I took the items in and so was disappointed to discover that I hadn't.When I got home I bleached the kitchen sink and washing-up pad and then took everything out of the fridge and removed all the shelves and door racks and washed them. I cleaned the inside and then put it all back together. It looks like a new fridge now - almost. I then wiped down the cupboard doors and took everything off the worktop and gave it a good clean and put everything back. All I didn't do was clean the floor and the hob, but I'll try to do those tomorrow. The Waitrose order then arrived so I put all that away and then made lunch and washed up. After that it was just more food preparation and washing up and giving of eye meds. I put out A's breakfast things and now it's nearly time for bed.5

YORKSHIRELASS said:Agree with what Round said Pigpen, hope you find someone to help you sort it. Glad the car situation is resolved Round.DH is a bit further on with unravelling the nonsense that is DWP. He got a Fitness for Work note signing him off for 6 months but DWP won't accept it, they have to have two x 3 months Fit Notes. No-one told DH this but after the DWP sending two identical letters and a 45 minute phone call with them, and then having to wait for the doctors to do their bit I think we are getting there.
Work has been manic. DH has hoovered and made a roast dinner. I have put clean washing away, changed our bed and bought essential supplies on the way home. Tired now.
Been for my new glasses. I’m now wearing distance glasses and have reading glasses, and the distance ones are way better than the varifocals.
Kitchen and bathroom cleaned. Ironing up to date. Towels in WM on a hot wash.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all
Apologies for being awol so far this week. I need more than 24 hours in a day it seems!Firstly I’m sending all my spare strength to Round, Piggers and YL. I wish I could wave a wand for us all, I really do. Singing Three Little Birds to you all xx
Its been a busy start to the week here with normal paid stuff, cleaning job, plus being exhausted from my full day shift in the pub on Sunday. However, I have a half day today and have been invited to a neighbour’s for lunch, which I will enjoy.Quite a bit of decluttering has been going on, and the new kitchen fire is in. I am really pleased with it. Doubt I will be when the bill arrives but there we go!I washed the kitchen sofa cushion covers last night as well as the cleaning cloths and sponges so they are airing off on the radiator- haven’t lit the fire yet, I’ll wait until it’s light. I need to book an Asda shop for later in the week, we have no pasta in!! And no biscuits! 🤣🤣 no wonder I’m raiding what’s in the WAC every night!
Big hugs to you all xx6 -
Morning all xx
I've never had so much money sat on the drive. I was convinced it would be stolen overnight. At least when you have nowt worth stealing it's pretty safe.
Thank you all for your kind comments. And piggers whenever someone needs a reply on here and I haven't a clue how to phrase the words, I now think 'I'll leave it to piggers she'll know what to say'. And you've never disappointed. It's a gift you have.
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, taken meds, packed lunch, eaten breakfast and supped my brew.
There's stuff everywhere that there usually isn't stuff. Two days with a shed-head and chaos reigns. I raved all that rammel out of the kitchen cupboard and it's still sat on the draining board....because I had THE phone call from the garage and lost my mojo. There's a pile of car- related bumph on the coffee table along with the packaging from the present Pops brought me from Benidorm. The presents he bought for P & S and for DS and DF are on the kitchen table along with who knows what.
I'll put the recycling out and feed the birds before I set off for the paid stuff. In Vincent - thank you for the inspiration piggers 🥰 I was hoping for a little book to tell me what knob does what, but it seems not. So it'll be 'what happens when I press that' 😳🤣
Priority today is to get my parking permit sorted for work. And tomorrow I'll fill up with diesel. DIESEL. Through the weird anti syphon fuel thingy. I still think electric windows are a novelty so having this many knobs and new gadgets is bewildering. Find the window wipers and how the lights work is key today.
Hope everyone has a good day.

oh Round I get it…part of why I didn’t buy mum’s car was the value of it (not told anyone else that). Although I keep saying if i win the Lottery i’ll be straight down to Hatfield’s to buy a jag. Not that I DO the lottery…
zPaid stuff today though DD wants me to marinade the chicken for tea so i had better look into that.

Re the stuff.. 1 item at a time.. maybe every time you go in the kitchen you do 1 or 2 bits.. it will soon be gone..
Vincent makes me think the car needs Sunflowers.. or to lose a wing mirror lol.. preferably sunflowers.
Been to buy an extra ball of wool for Harpers cardy.. I got 2 because I only need a sleeve and a cuff so the extra ball and the remainder will be enough for her another on.. That should see her through to christmas haha.. I bought a different pink and some cream to do her a slightly different one too but I want to get the aran out still.. I need to finish this one, do Benie another because he has none, I am doing him a V-neck jumper with cable bands up the front I think. then the arans for summer. I haven't done Spam a jumper for ages and he loves them so I will start with him I think.
I need to jiggle a washing machine, it wont spin because it is, like everything else in here, unbalanced.DW needs to go onI have a pile to dangle on the airersIt is glorious drizzle here today so everything smells of damp and mould.. oh spekaing of mould, I bought a mould and mildew removed for the dam corners in the loo, Moomins room and the girls room.. the bathroom needs doing too but that is just gross in there. I have some drain unblocker for the shower.. that is stinky. The highchairs still need battling into the cupboard but that will get done when I get chance.I have a box of stuff to V!nted and a bag to put away from Miss Squizz.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7 -
Piggers, re school not that I know much at all about them, but I would make a list of school that DO offer what squeak needs, then arrange that list in order of nearest to the house / bus stop. Then I would get on the phone to them, do they have places can you come and visit type conversation.Round good luck with the new car. Sneaking in at work. I've got my temporary parking permit sorted. I'll call at PO on my way home to pay the rent and pick up a parcel.
