Hi ISOM..re the limescale on shower head I think you soak a cloth in white vinegar and pack it all around the area and then put a bag over it or clingfilm and leave for 12 hours .Then take the cloth off and it should be like new.Does your showerhead unscrew...if it does you can sit it in a glass of vinegar.
  • Thanks taxi...its not actually the head but the heat gauge bit - basically a long pipe with one off to one side and temp on the other side and the temp bit is getting stuck between hot and cool (red button to get it to slip past a certain point except now it wont...)...may see if theres a plubming board - I did tie vinegar in a bag around it but the vinegar dripped out...maybe a cloth would be better?...
Happy to chat any time kp and pleased I didnt upset you - just read about your mum and prayers are with you...
ok day on training but v. tired. Goint to make some chutney and relax with my patchwork this eve. Did basic shop at asda and lidl and managed 10 which wasnt bad. Mega skint and my 70 cheque hasnt arrived from my survey which I was peeved about but thankfully I dont pay interest on o/d up to 250 and not there quite yet!! Got my phone bill and am going to send my mate in nz a headset for skype cos my two calls to her cost a whopping 21!!!!

  • oh here we go "shoulder to shoulder" cant the bbc come up with new expressions!! Have been watching the breakfast news having woken up with a bit of a hangover due to cheap asda wine that was possibly a bit too cheap! Have discovered that tesco cheapie australian red is ok and its under 3 which is good so maybe should stock up with that...
I wrapped the shower bit with a vinegarised rag taxi and then covered it in clingfilm (after being inspired by a prog where a bloke was told to wrap his bits and I thought oh yes could try that on the shower!! transferrable skills and all that lol!!)...will let you know if it works!!
Did some cutting for the patchwork so will do some sewing today...chutney is finishing and off to make cuppa #2 to try and diminish the poor head...want to get to allotment today and am having difficulties coordinating mate helping cos he always busy and has had man flu...welsh man flu at that!! Also need to knock a cakeie up...

    Hope you've had a good day x
  • Well not a very productive day....got to car book and bought a weird cooking pot that I hope to sell for more than 50p! plus a lovely large sealed jar...like a kilner. Then off to allotment for a bit - did the loo and chatted to mate before clearing a bit of overgrowth. Then went with weezl to look for cushion fabric and agreed that it would be much cheaper to buy cushions ready made! Popped back for a cuppa and then came home and slept as head blindingly painful...had a good two hours - woke up at 7 and have taken a nightol and will be asleep again by 9!! Tomorrow is church and hopefully see the new baby in the afternoon after a bit more allotment clearing....

  • umm despite oodles of sleep migraine is lingering so have whacked it again with a bit of everything - if that doesent do it I'm in trouble! I wonder if I can use the rest of the bottle of wine for cooking as loathe to chuck it - seems so wasteful...what do people think? Hopefully a cheap day today but a fairly busy week ahead...work late tom night, class Tues, home group weds....hoping nowt the rest of the week!! May take some time off as anxious to get the allotment cleared while weather is ok and ground not frozen....

  • I would use it up in a casserole or something like that. Hope the head clears soon. I have a thumping headache still, i think may need antibiotics for sinuses if doesn't clear. So i am going to stick head over a bowl of something steaming..oeerr
