  • hello lt...how you settling into married life?
Relatively quiet weekend planned - was going to allotment but very wet so will just have nice afternoon here. Just went to get the ingredients for my santa box and may do that later. Babysitting tonight and church tomorrow but other than that nowt planned!
Have managed to get a builder to come and look at the flooring "job" and will go from there...all been quite horrible tbh and I've found it quite upsetting (prob why I feel shattered and quite low) but I coudlnt carry on as it has been as feel I cant move in my own home. Worst thing is that I suspect it wil cost quite a bit to remedy even the one room...
Anyway...just had nice lunch and if I can I have to keep the lenses in a couple of hours more but not sure if I'll last that long lol!

Sorry to hear about your hassles but am glad you're having a quiet weekend x
  • Hope you have had a nice morning at church. I really should go myself, as my old vicar has just returned and i like his style very relaxed and family friendly. How is the patchwork coming along?
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:
  • hurro pepys! Back from church which was nice...went to se if I could get cheapie fruit but none so will go tomorrow and get some from the market by work. Alfie is teething bless him! His k9 is loose and he's chewing on everything...aww...
Babaysitting went well and was told very firmly that you dont kiss on the cheek but on the lips so explained some people kiss otherways and then showed him how eskimos kiss! Lovely eve of chilling - great to have peace, use someone elses heatng etc! WatchedTthe piano" which is a fab film and I'd forgotten how good is it plus they have a yummy huge tv on the wall so with lights off and fab sound its like being in the cinema and noone moaning below me about the noise so was just able to immerse myself, weep and relax...has to go down as one of the best films ever - so far its Shawshank redemption (love, truth, honesty, friendship), the secretary (weird, quirky love story) and the piano (music as language, simple life and communicating on a deep level...possibly more that I've seen in any other film)...anyway - it was good but didnt get to sleep until 2!
Today just going to do hoovering and patchwork and nowt else but maybe a snooze in between!! Off to see what you lot up to!

Hi ISOM ..sounds like you had a great time babysitting.Hope work was ok today x
  • Home from work and just made a batch of jam and chutney...chutney bubbling away.
Payday which is more than a little depressing as very little left after cc's etc...will do the sums after I've washed up...not a bad thing as need to knuckle down again but being honest feeling all a bit much at the moment...bleugh would do it and its not helped with the thought of Christmas....
Onwards and upwards and off to do the sums...
ooo done the sums and am into the 25,000's yeah...will be mega skint rest of the month though. Fab.

i'm so sad because i love doing the updating of everything after payday. I have to wait until next week for my payslip so will have to wait until then.
The good news is i should be under 35K which feels like another major landmark
Its OH's birthday today so i should race home and bake him a cake, but may just buy a small one to save on the calories.

  • Well done on the milestone for hopefully next week. I have to say hitting milestones is a real boost have been v. chuffed about hitting the 25,000 mrk and when I was at 37,000 never thought it possible...still a looooong way to go but feel I am getting there at least.
Just back from patchwork and had one of those nights where I should just have come home - if it could go wrong it did!! Added to the fact that I reversed my car into a fixed street light this monring and was laughed at by someone who was left in little doubt that her laughing at me hitting it (and scratching car and denting bumper in the process) wasnt appreciated...
Despite this had a good day and sold lots of jam so an extra 37 in the account which will be transferred somewhere when the rest is sold! Also means I'll be in the 24,000s which is an extra extra boost! Am decided that this christmas will be extra cheap and innovative and already have some orders for the cherry brandy and rasperry vodka I made!! Limicello next...possibly tomorrows task...
oo forget to say the contact lens saga continues...have reeealy been strugling with the lenses as always feels irritated/sore so had a heck today and it turns out even my eyes are weird!! Factoid for you...normally when you blink your eyes get a film of tears that takes 15 seconds to disperse on ave (wow...amazing that they can measure that!) but mine take 8.5 seconds so my eyes are drying out - thus the sorness..plus when you concentrate and dont blink at the computer (much of the day for me!) you blink less so eyes get even drier! Solution mr optomotrist says is different lenses and solution...we shall see! When asked how it felt I could only equte it to taking your bra off atthe end of the day - relief!! Not a great alalagy for a bloke so I tred taking ski boots off instead and then he got it. although I said it wasnt THAT painful...very few things are as painful as ski boots if you ask me and its always been one of lifes ironies that people pay a bomb to go ski and actually wear them...torturous! Anyway just wanted to share re the eyes...incredible how comples they are!!
