Toyota replies?

A little screenshot showing £0, or simply the absence of a commission invoice on the file. How would you prove or disprove the absence of something they say doesn’t exist? That’s a question that needs a whisky. If you want to ask for the evidence there was no commission you can, you want to be sure and I don’t blame you for not simply taking their word. I have seem solicitor signed statements of truth that something does not exist (not for car finance) only for it to later exist, one very annoyed solicitor saying, well they never showed me THAT 🤣0

I wholeheartedly agree with you BLT1 and I would encourage anyone who doesn’t want to take their lenders word for it to ask for that evidence. What you are asking for (commission information) does not constitute personal information so you would be unlikely to get it via a gdpr request. If you ask for it directly as part of a complaint / claim and they refuse to provide it then alarm bells would ring. Lenders are not to be trusted and have proven this time and time again since the 90s. It is their job to regain our faith in financial services.1

I've still not got a response other than the automated one on 5/3/2024. I wonder if anyone from Martin's team could hint if Toyota were involved?0

Wait until the FCA publish their report. The process is suspended at the moment and firms don't need to look into it until the FCA report is published and the FCA says which areas have issues and which do not and what action needs to be taken. until then no-one is doing anything.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.1 -

As I'm sure you are aware, Clydesdale Bank were fined over £20m for claiming not to have PPI data to avoid complaints. There is no chance at all the firms would risk fines on top of possible pay-outs when there is no guarantee that the FCA will even say if they have to refund anything.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I sent an initial complaint using the template on 21st May to commissioncomplaints@toyota-fs.com but had nothing, not even an automated response. How long is it taking to get an initial response?0

Nothing will happen until at least the end of September when the FCA review completes, after that it'll be worth following up or they may be told to contact you

Unfortunately toyota are saying they can't find anything in my name. Even though I've been buying cars from them since 2012. I think they are deleting all info ASAP.0
