Thank you for the kind comments regarding my daughter, I think the extra steroids are helping. She is supposed to be seeing an Endocrinology specialist at the beginning of April. I just hope it's one that can read an MRI this time and can find the results of her last blood tests!
Icc, beanie and all those feeling poorly, I hope you all feel better very soon. Icc, if I had a St Bernard instead of Collies I'd be sending them out to our nearest indie Coffee Shop, I love a good coffee! I think I've got some ground stuff in the kitchen somewhere.
Thank heavens it's Fridayxx

Yesterday was a resting day with a little bit of pampering (hands feet elbows, eyedrops, eye cream and a general moisturiser). However I've been awake since before 3 am (that's when I gave up on trying to get back to sleep) and watched several British films - mostly funny with some sad bits and some romantic bits (but not soppy).
Not sure what will happen today. I went downstairs to collect my laptop charger and the packaging to protect one of the missing presents now that it's turned up. I've had a shower and am currently sandwiched between 2 bath sheets with my mask on (knees and ankles look puffy so taking it easy) and will read until I sleep or feel more awake.
Grateful for resting, pampering and quirky British films.8 -
Sounds like yesterday was pretty good @grandmanerd. A bit of pampering is definitely good for the body and soul, as are old British films. Maybe try to do this a few times a week if you can squeeze it in?9

Thursday was a small spend day as I miscalculated how many lunches I had in the freezer and so had to buy something at work. Luckily shopping delivery came that evening. I also made a charity donation as it was already a spend day.
Friday was a NSD, very busy day at work which helped. Managed to have a quick check through my bank accounts and am on track so far. Sent some money to my emergency fund.
Today should be another NSD, plans are to catch up with housework and go to boxing class. I've already cleaned my small aquarium and washed all the towels. Got some batch cooking to do but first, hoovering!8 -
Not been around much as been flitting between parents and in laws supporting them with their various ailments. Big issue has been dealing with forgetfulness or bloody mindness which has hindered what else has needed doing.
No no spend days as yet.
Love 🐞

Afternoon allLots of visitors and cards and presents for Mothers' Day today, even though it isn't till tomorrowSmallest grandchildren made chocolate chip cookies and a card, eldest DD brought very posh chocolates. Feeling spoiled.NSD 5 for me today, as I called in to Mr W for lunch bits for visitors yesterday after work. I would have gone to Mr L, but the traffic was awful and W is closer! I made a loaf in the BM, and made salad from fridge and garden bits to go with the olives, hummus etc that I had bought.Nothing much done apart from lots of washing up after lunch - and cleaning up of painting stuff before, as the little ones wanted to paint and I didn't want it all to get mixed upDinner will be easy - cold chicken with ratatouille from the freezer and couscous.Grateful today for my children and grandchildren11

Today I am grateful for pip having a much needed mahoosive lie in, for getting to both liddle and the gym while pip slept, for Pip spending time with a friend and me getting to chat with the friend's mum, for antihistamines (friend has 2 cats and a dog), for my foot healing up nicely

Sending love to all who are not feeling 'it' just now,for whatever reason, especially anyone for whom tomorrow is difficult. It was never very hallmark for us but I have had a few tears over mother's day cards in shops this month.
Happy to have got through a long and quite challenging week at work, some work travel and conferences which were very people-y. Grateful for work friends new and old - was lovely to be reunited with people I had shared offices with much earlier in my career. Quality conference giveaways too - have come away with water bottles, travel mugs and some decent pens! The two former I was expecting to need to buy soon so that's handy!
Had a takeaway from a friend's pizza van last night for a international women's day celebration with my lodgers. It's a much bigger social event in 🇺🇦 than it is here. A bargain as one person was away so I have left them some leftover slices in the freezer! Had time for a walk with my friend local to this house this morning, precious conversation and some amazing wildlife down by the river,we had a flypast from two swans right over our heads!
Work paid the fuel costs for this trip as I needed to catch the train for the conference from close to this house, so I also tried to make use of having the car by bringing a few plants from the garden back for the new flat.
Have some nice a1rb&b guests tonight - it's gradually getting more straightforward to prepare for them but I could do with spending a few hours on a house manual I think. Still trying to work out how much I need to put the hot water tank on when there are more people here!
A bit jaded by tonight, but dinner from the freezer helped! Have already done the olio pick up for tomorrow am. Am all about making tomorrow as easy as I can. Oh I also need to finish the last batch of expenses!

Glad you've given us another clue as to the shop name @f0xh0les, I know where you mean now 😂 & no, we've not got one of those on our island, but a haulage firm will collect from the nearest store & bring it North if needed.
Saw a hare running in a field in my way to work, it made me smile. Blasted my music & sang along as I drove too. A different day at work today, but all went as good as it could've.
Drove to town & bought birdseed from a shop that's closed on a Saturday. Picked something up for DS2, collected sewing, then me & mum shared 1 portion of a chippy tea.
Picked up my friend & went to.a free showing of the B@rbi3 film, my friend treated me to chocolate & a bottle of juice. Watched part of a concert on TV with mum before we went to bed.
Today, we moved some furniture round, which involved emptying shelves & drawers to make things lighter to push along. Her tabletop freezer is now in a better place & some things are more organised. Did give a little lecture about only storing food things in her kitchen & that I've helped her clear things lots of times now, even though I'm short of time, & if she put like with like, she'd see what she's got & not misplace things or it go way out of date & she wastes money. Said I'm not wanting to be mean about it, but she needs to help herself & create more space, so she can move more easily around her flat & her legs might not be in souch pain. Dumped a bag of OOD food, then went shopping for fresh fruit, etc.
Put the shopping away, had s late lunch, then spent a lovely time tidying & weeding in the garden, whilst listening to C2C on the radio.
Did the ironing after tea, unpicked 2 zips, then did a bit of knitting, whilst watching TV.
Grateful for seeing the hare yesterday, a hug from DS1 when he came home from work, pottering in the garden, a sense of achievementUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
