Massive Wednesday hugs to all Turtles feeling the strain today. It is not lazy to rest when you need to. It is not lazy to ignore something you don't have the bandwidth to deal with today. Be kind to yourself now, and future you will thank you for it.
I have found a few lists of 'things to do' from the Xmas holidays and January. I didn't get those things done on the days I had scheduled them to be done, but each and every one has been done before March. I am a firm believer in the power of a list, stuff gets rolled over, but it doesn't get forgotten, and some days are small jobs days, some are start jobs days, and some days are just 'planning ' days.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

@Flying_By I hope your DD feels well enough to return home soon!
Yesterday was a NSD, went for a quick walk before work, then work itself was pretty busy so no time to even think about spending, which is good as I've been making increasingly regular trips to an independent coffee shop near my office recently! Went to a gym class after work and then fell asleep on the sofa as could feel a headache coming on.
Headache got worse overnight so just taking it easy this morning before logging on to work from home. Have a fair few quick household chores to do but will see how I go.8 -
Yesterday I mostly slept and/ or rested. I got downstairs but did very little - there was an ominous crack from my knee at one point. Later on I phoned my niece and left a voicemail asking her to collect the two covers from the mattresses but I don't know if she's at home or 8 miles away where she and her bf work - he has on-site accommodation. But if I can't get in a taxi and go to deal with it, there's nothing I can do.
Grateful for the couch, my bed and sleep/ rest (it got a bit confusing in the middle as I'd missed bits of the series I was watching so must have drifted)9 -
Thanks, Everyone.
Surgeon phoned late yesterday afternoon and I do need another op so I'm back in again next week. Just waiting for a phone call to arrange a CT scan. So many of us struggling with health issues just now. Sending lots of love and hugs to you all. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Fingers crossed the new op goes ok and sorts out the problem @Toni'sfriend . At least you haven't got to wait ages!

NSD4 today. Supper will be from the freezer. Spent the day up a ladder stripping painted woodchip wallpaper off a ceiling. This is not my favourite job. It is not even in my top ten fave things to do on a Wednesday. Bizarrely the ceiling underneath ( or should that be above?) is pristine so far .....so why did they do it????? 😭 Why does it even stick like that??? Madness!
Took DH to the train station at dawn, and he is now in The Land of the Cuckoo Clocks . Totally painless journey , he is delighted by French and Swiss trains. I may have just converted him. All those emissions saved!
Gratitudes: leftovers for an easy lunch, getting stuff done, carpets tomorrow!

Took a while to persuade my body to move (very creakily). Two bags of donations dropped off at the YMCA, a brief walk around the Hospice cs and a brief rest in the Cenotaph gardens on my way to the GPO. Paid the gas and electric bill for grandma's house then trekked west across town picking up lunch on the way. Called in at the hairdresser's to ask if there were any appointments available and was seen straight away.
Afterwards I went into the mall to buy envelopes for posting photos (sent some smaller ones to my cousin earlier as they fit inside a card) then sat on a bench, packed the photos, addressed the envelope and sent it off to the Isle of Man. Crossed to the bus station and waited for a bus to grandma's house. The covers weren't where we left the mattresses, so either my niece got my message or someone else took them.
Spent some time in the house working my way through a pile of jars, putting the contents in a bin bag and the emptied and rinsed jars into a rubble sack. Worked on some paper recycling too. Put most of it out in the yard. Had a phone call from my cousin and chatted at the same time as dealing with jars and recycling. When our call ended I spent a little while outside chopping at the bracken and vincas before calling for a taxi. Quick journey home (all the school mums were either travelling the opposite way or were already home and the work rush hour hadn't started.
Feel a bit wiped out but a very good day's work. Yesterday I gathered up a bag full of books I've read in the past couple of weeks and returned them to their places on the downstairs shelves. Today I took a pile of children's books down and put them in an empty cube. I now have quite a lot of empty cubes so I'm aiming to transfer as much as possible from my room leaving only clothes and bed stuff.
Grateful for getting things done, a haircut, posting photos.7 -
Still on NSD #3 as I sent my eldest grandson some money for his birthdayI might as well pay the milk bill as well while I am at it, to save spoiling another potential NSD.Another load of washing done, and dried (mostly) outside. Now on the airer to finish off overnight.Did lots of fiddly, annoying little jobs that I had been putting off. None of them took longer than 5 minutes. Why do I put them off??And finished freezer tetris started yesterday
Managed to get everything in. I am determined to keep the little 'overflow' freezer that I use for Christmas and for home grown fruit and veg gluts switched off, to save electricity. It has gradually come to be on almost permanently, and that must stop.
Sorted out some money stuff, after a very confusing letter from the bankThen out in the garden this afternoon, planted the last few strawberry plants and weeded and swept the yard.OH cooked the dinner, roast chicken and veg. Plenty left for at least 3 more meals - and it was only a normal sized chicken. We are cutting down on portion sizes in an effort to lose weight.Grateful today that OH has agreed that he needs to lose weight, and is prepared to do something about it. To be honest he needs to lose a lot more than the stone or thereabouts that I want to shift. Also for some time outside in the sun, though chilly, and that I managed to get everything in the freezer!8 -
Today I am grateful for my gym buddies, for a friend getting another job, for finding all the requisite bits of clothing in charity shops to make pip's book day costume for tomorrow, for enjoying my knitting, for a plan for tomorrow.
