Big hugs to all the ones struggling just now & with poorly family.
Felt half asleep/in a trance when I got up. Did some Norwegian & got ready for work. Left 10mins early, so I could go to the dump. The member if staff appeared with a trolley as I was getting out of the car, as he'd seen I had something large in the back 😊 only took 2 mins to lift the oven out of the boot & he'd whizzed it off to the right place before I'd even blinked! The bins for recycling tetra packs had the kids open, so could just tip the black bag contents straight in, rather than have to feed them one at a time through a bristled slot! (No comment @f0xh0les! 🙊😂) So arrived at work early.
Work went well, saw a colleagues grandson showing her that he'd learned to walk, which was lovely. Went for a walk with work bestie afterwards. Had a good chat & she suggested a few places to go to speak to people re: benefits, etc.
Had a late tea, as DH had gone for a lie down. Did a quick repair job on my sewing machine, for a devastated pupil, then stuffed & stitched the 2 memory bears. All finished now 😃, sewed later than normal to get them finished. They're the biggest if the 3 sizes I make & a good size for cuddling.
Grateful for a helpful council worker, toddler footsteps, a good day at work, lots of laughter, good chat with my friendUse it up, wear it out

Yesterday it rained all day. Today looks like a beautiful day outside. Inside, I have a cat that threw up in an inaccessible spot so I will need to move some furniture to get to it and clean it up. I need to take some excess food to the neighbors before I do that though to get it out of the way.
Yesterday evening I went to the Family History Center. A friend took me there after he tried to convince me it wasn't raining (it was pouring) to help with someone - but they couldn't make it because of the rain. So I started to research what parish records exist in my area of Switzerland for the 1500s and 1600s - not much. Right in the middle of checking a film, the Internet went off. Turns out it went out for the whole building, probably because of the rain (thunder and lightning too). The rest of the building's Internet came back but ours didn't. Our poor computer specialist had been called in to sort it out. Took two hours. So instead I worked on my own family tree and printed out the pedigree chart. When I got home I discovered a couple of major problems on it when I compared it to the indexes I have been making for the parish - oh well, I get to research some new lines this way.
Will be taking roommates grocery shopping later. We are down to me as the driver, as G doesn't drive at all and Di has been told not to drive as she has been having seizures. I have been driving with one eye because my eyes haven't gotten together yet after the cataract surgery. My left eye automatically closes now when I get behind the wheel. I'm 76 and won't be driving much longer. We are looking into the local alternatives. I miss the bus service in London sometimes as ours is so bad.
Today, I am grateful to still be driving, being able to help out our neighbor. At least the rain means I don't need to water the yard for awhile. Hugs to those who need them.10 -

Well done for doing the chair yoga beanie xToday I am grateful for going out for a coffee with dh, for finding a suit for Pip for just £5, for a yummy baked potato for tea, for pip's book day costume + pink hair getting plenty of positive comments, for finding cheap brown hair dye to return pip's hair to a more normal colour tomorrow morning.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

Not an NSD today so sticking on NSD4. Paid for two carpets, a bed and a mattress, horrifically spendy, but not an everyday or even an every-year purchase. I am really shocked at how much things cost though. I usually buy bed frames and furniture from charity shops or get from Free-cycling sites, but the only bed frame in the local hospice shop was £200 without delivery, and it was just a standard pine frame!. The Greek Boat shop are delivering before 9am tomorrow. Did most of the food shop as it was a spend day, did volunteering, started moving furniture around a bit, and even washed the pots after supper!Grateful that DH is having a good time in Europe, for my coffee machine, and for my lists.

I have no idea what it is either @beanielou! Living on an island, a lot of these shops are the place of dreams, as we have none of them here 😂 well done on the chair yoga 😊
Quite tired today. A good day at work, though it's been a week of children banging their heads! Must be something in the water. Pleased I could give comfort to a pupil near the end of the day. Chatted with staff after school, so didn't go for a quick walk.
Went for a nap when I got home. Was rudely awakened by hearing DH turning the air blue, as he was 3/4 through a recipe & realised we didn't have any eggs! I quickly nipped to the shop (in my PJs as had worn them at school all day for World Book Day & not bothered changing when I got home 🤣). Thought I might as well order DS1's birthday presents, now I'd spent something today.
Did 2 quick sewing jobs after tea & put the washing on the airer. Read more of my book in the bath.
Grateful for seeing the children playing football together in their PJ's/onesies/oodies, comforting a sad/injured pupil, that I was able to fix a zip on s huge bag so now don't have to replace the whole thingUse it up, wear it out
