Evening all!
A better day today 😊 the weather was dry & not too windy, pupils were happy in school & I had a massage booked for 4pm. The only dampener was the jet constantly going across the sky above the spa, which drowned out the relaxing music!
Unpicked a zip & put a new one in after tea, whilst watching the last 2 episodes of a series on ipl4yer, then did a big more of my jigsaw.
Grateful for a good day, a great massage, that DS1 didn't fall off a cliff in the dark last night when he was wild camping!!Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

oh gosh thrifty, that took me back to days when I would wild camp as a teenager on the cliffs....as a mum of grown kids now I can see it's a scary prospect!
Very grateful for a flying visit from DD and a chance to reconnect with herand that she is prioritising time with older relatives on this visit home. Dad overjoyed to see her. He'll be talking about it for weeks
Grateful for a bit of a big glitch averted at work and for supportive work buddies. Very greatful that my anti-depressent medication is kicking in I think, I feel more balanced and less internally-ranty!
Grateful for a kick up the * about getting my finances in order offered by a some forms I need to fill in for work...have spent the evening pulling off various bits of information and a bit more to do tomorrow, but I made a strong start!
A few frogs for the morning:
more on le form of forms
submit delay repay
make sure I can get paid for leave not taken due to work crisis
prep for a presentation that I think is a career lever type of thing

Morning all! Hope you have a Wonderfully Weird Wednesday today.
Another Revolution of the Roundabout brings voluntary after school GCSE intervention sessions for Science. They lock the bike sheds at 3.15 so I am going to have to drive them in and out until May. Every little helps! It was not even difficult to convince him on this, so that is a bonus!
I have got nothing done since DH came home, except cleaning, I have done cleaning. But motivation is back!
Grateful for Turtles 🐢🐢 and coffee and the freedom to be able to drive the kids about the place to get them where they need to be.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Weather has scuppered many of my plans (as has this lingering cold 🤦♀️) but I'm doing pretty well on most stuff.
I've been using up/repurposing leftovers - I'd made a sauce for the roasted cauliflower I made last week which I wasn't overly keen on (the sauce, not the cauliflower!) so last night chucked a big spoonful of english mustard in it and made a lentil pastisio with it - tasted fab!! 😁 Enough leftovers for tonight too as dh is out so I've got a totally free day! 😁
Gratitudes - my grandbaby's health improving; having the ability to help my dd out; the deer and pheasants in my garden; hibiscus and lemon verbena tea (my new favourite thing!) and lots of time to do nothing!!DNF: £708.92/£1000

Evening turtles
Yesterday had a small spend as caved in and got a coffee at work. Other than that no spends, afternoon coffee really is my weakness (until summer then I'm too hot to stand the stuff).
Had a small win with a massive reduction in my contents insurance today, contacted my provider with a cheaper quote I'd had elsewhere and they were able to more than match it, they cut it by 47% of the renewal price!
An acting up opportunity has arisen at work so I need to get myself in gear and write an application. But that can wait until tomorrow. Off to spin class shortly, first time in about 6 months so it's going to be painful! Will make use of their showers while I'm there though.13 -
Yesterday I met the chief Waste Wizard at grandma's house. He estimated it at between 19 and 14 cubic metres (including some of the carpets which are badly stained/ getting ready to fray in places) and it will cost under £400. They are coming on Friday. I was there for about 2 hours (spent thee hour before the appointment sorting bits - a pile of my things (bin bags, tools, bags for life), more rubbish sorted (last bin bag is mainly paper - instruction books for appliances etc). After he'd gone I went to the bathroom and then looked at some more things in the built in cupboard. I think it's all stuff mum put away 30 years ago. I found her wedding album (she had me hunting everywhere for that) and another small packet of photos including some school photos and the last photo of my grandma, taken a few weeks before she died.
Went up and down the stairs twice and was exhausted when I got home. I ate but moved back upstairs as soon as I could move and had an afternoon nap. Came down again later but mainly relaxing. Today I phoned Scot Power and that was exhausting too. I cut it off after 42 minutes (she put me on hold whilst she 'updated my account'). Three tinny 'songs' were enough. She kept going through stuff to make sure I understood it, repeating the same information several times. However I have ensured they have my correct e-mail, there is a £10 late payment charge which will either be removed from the account or I will be sent a paper bill to pay, someone will come out to read the meters (I'm now on the vulnerable people register - can't see the meters or bend to get near them) and i also have an appointment to have smart meters installed.
I'm grateful for lots of things but too tired to think.11 -

That must be a load off your mind @grandmanerd. A massive job cleared off your list.
Today I painted a ceiling and glossed more woodwork. Then made 4 trays of cannelloni. It went down a storm and I have one left in the fridge. As there was a clear shelf in the oven for the second round of cannelloni, I baked 6 individual chocolate sponges. Easy pudding with ice-cream. Everyone was happy and DH walked in the front door as I set it on the table ( he was half an hour early). Was due to meet a friend for coffee tomorrow, but she just cancelled on me. I might still take the morning off, it has been a while since I went rogue.
Gratitudes : finally getting to NSD 7, starting to decorate another bedroom, knocking a few jobs off the list..
Hugs to all those under the doctor, grateful for the NHS as always.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
