Kaz I don't know how near or far you are from me (I seem to think you are north east coast but that could be totally made up!!) I will happily come and help you clean up when they are done xx
Tip run done, car loaded with another. Burn bin outside full of stuff and burning merrily. Lunch now then I need to sweep LR floor x8 -
Liverpool booked. We have splurged and booked a room each because it wasn't too pricy! Bus trip booked - reduction because we are OAPs and train tickets booked and they were cheap too...unbelievably inexpensive.
DDs after work thing cancelled; she will be here for tea after all.
Red Letter Day voucher still untouched. *sigh*Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I've never been able to work out what exactly 'light houswork' is, apart from washing up, which doesn't count if you have a dishwasher, and dusting, is just boring. Vacuuming is NOT 'light housework'. At least the top layer is done and some other areas that needed it, but that was completely shattering this morning. I walked six miles yesterday and that wasn't half as knackering.Dog walked, two birdseed feeders dismantled and soaking, compost bin emptied into a bucket that is now living in the shower with some catpee woodshavings to get it going because both tumblers groan when I turn them, they're so full. It's soaking wet in the yard and I can't get out there to start any seeds off in this weather, so it looks as though I'l be buying tomato plants yet again.*struggling to keep up*Better is good enough.7

Some paid stuff done, dog walked, most dailies done, living room dusted, made syrup sponge and loaf of bread, washed up then scrubbed kitchen sink.
More paid stuff next.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
ASB thank you, I would kindly take up you offer, but we are about 230 miles apart!!. I 'think' my neighbours DD, is a SAHM and does ad hoc cleaning, this would fit in with school hours, I might ask tonight, am I right in thinking a cleaner is about £15 p/h or £20 if they supply the products.I've just had a look at how they are getting on, which is fine, and been told most of the dust will be finish being made by end of today, then it will be a few days of rebuild. So I might just have a good hoover round, each day and a major clean when they actually do completely finish and go. The covering on the sofa nad about 1cm of dust on it............Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

@Asparklierblonde 'ASB HQ' - that really made me laugh for some reason. I like it; it sounds like Thunderbirds, which were International Rescue - which is how a lot of us feel most of the time I think,Piggers, most people would have give up well before 3 hours but I can just imagine you saying 'no, sofa, you will not beat me, you will not, you WILL go in' lolValli, yes you are an inspiration. I'm with you on vouchers too - they are a pain. A's niece bought us one for Côte a couple of Christmases ago but although lockdown was over we were still nervous about eating out and then we kept meaning to use it or give it away but never got around to it and it expired after 13 months. I was going to write and plea for clemency but I just never got around to it.This morning after getting read and eye drops the new casserole dish arrived. Its quite a bit bigger than the old one, which I wasn't expecting. It's very light though, like the frying pan. After unpacking it I walked to the end of the road for a few bits. I came back and dead-headed a pot plant and then stripped the bed and put the bedding on to wash and put fresh bedding on. I took everything off the worktop in the kitchen and wiped it down, as well as the cupboard doors, fridge and washing machine and then put everything back. After that it was time to make lunch and do the eye drops then wash-up and do the tumble drying. I replied to a query about my complaint to Royal Mail and took a bag of rubbish down and returned a bag of coffee beans I'd bought form a local shop; I swapped them for ground coffee. Then it was time for tea, more eye drops and wash up again and pack up the washed bedding for the laundry company to take tomorrow to iron. I watched Four in a Bed for half and hour's mindfulness mindlessness and soon I will be thinking about making supper.

Hello, I'm still here - lurking occasionally.
It's been a tricky couple weeks what with GP appointments AND a visit to the dentist (which always fills me with horrors due to bad memories from when I was a child and was banned from one which progressed through the years even into adulthood!) because I thought I'd cracked a tooth, but it turns out I only chipped it slightly so no treatment was necessary.
But, the tartar scraping was well overdue (last done pre-covid!) so went back today. She only had time to do the lower teeth today. I have an appointment for the upper teeth in a few weeks. I find my life seems to be vividly punctuated by dentist appointments and I remember every single one of them...
Weather has been pants today but I did manage to dust, clean and sweep the living room today just in case Agent Million comes calling tomoz. Yesterday I did a load of WM, TD and ironing...
Hope you are all well xxx

Hello everyone, we are back home safely from our travels. It was lovely to walk into a clean and tidy house, although DH has carefully spread his new magazines around to make it look (in his opinion) more homely
I did a lot of motorway driving in 4 days, but it took us where we wanted to go and to the people we wanted to see, so all was good. DGS3+4 are still not quite as tall as me, however I suspect that that will have changed by the summer: they have developed the enormous appetites of pre-teenage boys with hollow legs, and are shooting up fast. It won't be long before I am the shortest in the family, as well as the oldest.
Flying today has consisted of stripping our beds before we left DS2's, packing my suitcase and sorting out the contents when we arrived home.
Hope that your DD is on the road to recovery now, ASB xxx
Well done on surviving the dentist, soappie x
Honey_Bear, I'm with you on "vacuuming is not light housework" - just lugging the vacuum cleaner from one room to another is enough to wear me out, and as for all the bending and stretching.... When K and I clean my house together, I do the tidying, dusting and de-cobwebbing, and she takes charge of the vacuuming and window cleaning. We get the cleaning done quickly enough to be able to sit down and recover with coffee and scones or cake before she has to go off to her regular job
Enjoy your trip to Liverpool, Valli. Don't miss the Tate - look out for the Flylady with an enormous pile of washing! x

I forgot to mention I made more leek and potato soup today. A declared that he would like it every day. It's fairly quick and very easy to make but I don't want to do it every day. Hopefully it's passing phase! He used to eat peanut butter all the time but now he never touches it - so he has form.Did eye drops, made supper and washed up. We rang our elderly friend in Plymouth - he sounded quite breathless and tired.
Put out A's breakfast things, found the business card of the oven cleaning man I used about 18 months ago. I've a feeling he doesn't do it now though, which is annoying as he was good, and cheap. Am about to write a card to my friend in Manchester and then think about going to bed. Sleep well everyone.
