Evening all ...
@roundtuit - I agree - 2 loads of washing out and boom starts to tip it down .... I almost (almost) ran ... now draped over airer to finish drying off.
@Cloth_of_Gold - I have to do eye drops several times a day (thankfully not 6) and one of them, the bottle is so stiff, I can imagine how hard A must find it ...
My day has been slow and steady .... apart from the darned cushion cover I'm attempting to make .... for whatever reason the velvet refuses to play ball whilst I'm trying to insert the zip ... 3 times now unpicked and thrown to the side in disgust. The first one went swimmingly. Typical !
I used the radiator brush in the utilty room ... having seen how DH removed the side panel and then the top panel, one of life's mysteries became clear (I did think a screwdriver may have needed to be involved, but no ). Oh my, what a lot of dust came out, but oh yes, very satisfying It's the small things!
Now making some rhubarb cordial with the last of last years rhubarb I found lurking in the freezer last night ... and once made I may brave the rhubarb wine I made a number of years ago ... "may" !
Almost time to harvest this years, a couple of weeks I reckon.
Over the w/e did manage to knock 3 more o/s sewing tasks out of the way, which is good .... until I realised today, how many other things are in my own queue to do ....
Right, jacket spud and chilli tonight (was meant to be last night) ...

@Valli how old is your pa?@Zed42 it's really annoying isn't it? A used to have some drops in a bottle of a similar shape and size but you didn't squeeze it, you pressed the bottom. You didn't need to press the bottom very hard at all for the drops to come out, so it was easy. They should all be like that.Made tea and washed up and did the eye drops. Ordered a new rug underlay for the sitting room as the old one must be worn out because the rug keeps 'creeping'. Ordered a new casserole dish from Our Place. We have one of their frying pans and it is great - so light and easy to wash, nothing sticks to it. Our casserole dish is an enamelled cast iron one (a much cheaper version of Le Creuset) and not only is it very heavy, things stick to it and it is hard work to clean. Helped A to deal with some personal admin. Made supper, gave more eye drops and need to wash up soon.7

I am here, just had a very busy day juggling work and poorly DD. She has made great progress but her body is worn out bless her. I have a big meeting in Leeds tomorrow so lots of driving. At least I can expense an M&S lunch and get 45p per mile for my efforts! Covers the cost of after school club for DS and the dog walker I’ve had to arrange. Will report in properly tomorrow xx7

Well done slinky Roundtuit.
- zumba twice
- wudupa
- slight kitchen tidying
- more of a report done
- bit of drumming done
hm, that seems to be it today. I'm sure I must have done something else, but can't recall what!
CofG thanks for tip about Holland Park; we're staying fairly close to Lancaster Gate tube so it isn't far at all.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
We have enjoyed a day of mainly leisure - a slow start, a walk for me and Rosie to the local nature reserve, then a 30min drive with DH to the coast. A delicious main course in a dogfriendly gastropub was followed by a Bakewell tart and custard for DH and another walk for me and Rosie along the prom and past the marine pool (water changed twice daily by the tide) which i was not minded to test - sorry Narc0, far too cold! On our return to the table in the pub which DH was still manfully occupying, in order not to be outdone by his efforts, i made short work of a delicious sticky toffee pudding, after which all three of us went for another, somewhat slower, walk towards the pier. We still managed to eat the sausage and pasta bake which DS2 cooked for tea. No chance of slinkiness here, then!
Flying wise, i made my bed this morning, folded a throw and put the sofa cushions straight, and washed up the pasta dishes by hand. Rosie licked her bowl clean.
Flymeet tomorrow We will raise a coffee mug to you all xxx6 -
CoG he’s my stepdad, he’s about 77 or 78 I think. They like to keep things secret. Which is a pain and has been a burden,
Mum was fine until about 10pm then the agitation crept in. She wanted her pipe to blow smoke. She’s never, ever smoked…she wanted her phone actually but i wouldn’t let her phone him in case he was mid game. Anyway, given it’s lit up like Blackpool I was able to easily see to knit. I had a hard time convincing her she was in her own house.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

CofG thanks for tip about Holland Park; we're staying fairly close to Lancaster Gate tube so it isn't far at all.I'm not a fan of the cafe in the park but if you're looking for one there is a really nice cafe in a museum very close to Holland Park. It's closed on Tuesdays though but not sure how long you're staying for. https://www.rbkc.gov.uk/museums/de-morgan-cafe-leighton-house It's small and gets quite busy so best to get there before 11.00 in my experience. Nice coffee and they do lovely small cakes too. You don't have to pay to go in if you're just going to the cafe.Washed up and put out A's breakfast things and have just the last lot of eye medication to do. It has to be done before he goes to sleep though and currently he's napping and resisting getting up and getting ready for bed so that I can apply the eye ointment! Sleep well everyone.

Good morning my lovelies xx
I was awake at 5, dozed, and up at 6.30. Much nicer start to the day than being woken by the alarm at 7. Made my bed, got dressed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast, and I'm supping a brew.
Still smells a bit lemony in here. But, I cannot tell a lie, my bathroom floor looks soooo much better. I will get there eventually. Where does all the dust come from? If it's mostly skin cells (🤢) I shouldn't have any skin left!!! Anyhoo. That's another bite of the elephant swallowed.
Paid stuff today. Then I'll call at the PO on my way home to pay the rent and the leccy bill.
Hope you all have a great day and that the Flymeet goes well. Also hoping that asb's DD is feeling a lot better today xx
Hugs

Just reporting in, so nobody thinks I've died! The internet has been terrible for the last week or so. Drops out every few minutes, can't run more than one device at a time, crackles and drop out on the land line. I keep reporting it, they keep fixing it, but not properly obviously. So that's my excuse for being MIA. I have been flying though. Three days, one extendable brush, one set of step ladders, a hose pipe, and a volunteered OH. The tunnel is now much cleaner. Most of the algae/moss/lichen is now gone. Only a strip down the middle of the top, that couldn't be reached. What I really need is snow! Two or three inches settling in the top, then when it melts, it takes the algae with it. Not had proper snow for a few years. Only want it on the tunnel though.
Lots of seeds being started off. LOTS of weeds being pulled up, why can't The plants grow that well?
Dried the washing on the line yesterday. Going shopping today, out of milk again.
The sheep are all happy, or as happy as sheep can be.
Right, off to write the list and catch up on the thread maybe. Hugs, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2023.

Morning all. Hope you're all ok xx
Bit of a rough night here, constantly pushed to the edge of the king size bed, covers pulled off me, then too hot. Poppet is like a dead weight when she doesn't want to move. Don't know what was wrong with her choice of two dog beds last night. Anyhow, that means I've actually not been up long as once DH left for work there was more room for me!
Having first cuppa. Poppets meat is in the oven.
Lots of Tuesdailies to do so I'll report back later.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8
