I hope Miss ASB picks up again, such a worry xx
I can vouch for The Lost Bookshop - loved it. Reading Dawnlands atm, should have started with Dark Tides, maybe. My list of future books is now longer, thank you ASB xx For ASB and Jazee, I can recommend Murder in the Family and Trespasses, both recently read.

Cloth_of_Gold said:I'm not a fan of the cafe in the park but if you're looking for one there is a really nice cafe in a museum very close to Holland Park. It's closed on Tuesdays though but not sure how long you're staying for. https://www.rbkc.gov.uk/museums/de-morgan-cafe-leighton-house It's small and gets quite busy so best to get there before 11.00 in my experience. Nice coffee and they do lovely small cakes too. You don't have to pay to go in if you're just going to the cafe.
Well Mr N as usual put me to shame this morning; I came back from my gym swim to find he'd stripped the bed and put a load in the WM, done a load through the DW and put it away and cleared up any kitchen debris, then had started on the garden........
I did a bit of weeding
Filled the bird feeders
Put yesterday's clean washing away
Tidied away some other clothes in the bedroom
Made dinner
Did more of a report
Did some knitting
Did some drum practice
Downloaded a load of FB posts as I had planned for ages to make a 'Covid years' photobook to sort of document our lives.......Flick£ seem to be offering a cheap one at the moment so I need to get a wiggle on.
Another thumbs up for the Lost Bookshop.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Thanks ASB - I'll be ok. And thanks Valli for the coffee.Made tea and washed up; sent an email with photos to the managing agent about the broken tile and the mess left by the man who came to do the handrail. Spoke to my friend in Manchester - still no sign of her father coming out of hospital. Made supper and washed up; eye drops x 2; completed the survey on the car and mentioned the gloves; did some online banking; put A's breakfast thing out. Now about to finish the pre-bed eye routine.9

Fayolle said:And I did tick some flying jobs off before and after I played truant and snuck off to meet Iona & Rosie 😇. I can also vouch for Iona’s coffee and walnut cake making prowess, although I’m not so sure how much will be left for DD when she comes home at the weekend. I might need to find a lock and key…
Flying achieved today: wm x 1, bed stripped and remade, wm loaded for the morning, upstairs dusted and vacuumed, bathroom cleaned. I even managed HH admin. Dinner has been cooked (30 minutes) and eaten (9 minutes) was it worth the effort, kitchen put to bed.
I have a new library book ready for “collection” ( I dislike ebooks, give me a real book any day, but it’s the only way that I can make use of the brilliant library facilities), so I need to crack on with the one I am reading (another ASB recommendation). Last sleeve of DD’s jumper also needs to be finished for the weekend. Drat having to go to work tomorrow, so many better things to do.
Cleaned hallway so house looking pretty damn decent though I says it as shouldn’t. Left side of cardi knitted. Might need to frog cardi back, actually, I think the vertical pattern bit might be in the wrong place. Tea made, DW and WM locked and loaded. Been to Mr L, got my free bakery item (£1.99 loaf) and scored £1 coin in a trolley! woot.
Been to phlebotomist. Got in and out within the free half hour so didn’t have to pay to park.
Sweet dreams all and hope Miss ASB improves

2 important letters sorted.. I used 2 of my 3 stamps (book of 4, OH used the 4th) and 1 doesn't stick.. and one only half sticks so I am returning my stamps to the post office!! I haven't used stamps in years and years.. it is quite the novelty.
1 parcel packaged.. 1 to find and package and 1 to dry and package.. it needed a quick wash before sending as it had a small mark which I am hoping has washed off.Knitted a sleeve for Harpers 2nd cardigan.did 1x WM (for the jumper to post)pack ups and dinner cooked.did a small shop.. OH got lots of ding dinners.. I got ice cream.. nom!I am going to sort some GF flour for DD1.. oh, she was finally given a dx of hypothyroidism so thats a step in the right direction for her sorting herself out.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9 -
Morning ladies
Valli may I just say that you really do astound me with your resilience and positivity. You have so much going on yet you just plough on. I think you’re ace and your parents are lucky to have you xxx
Standard morning here at ASB HQ so far: fire poked and going again, cuppa made, kitchen tidied. I haven’t let the dogs out yet because older dog P likes to bark a lot in excitement when she goes out for her morning wee 🤷♀️🙄🤣 and I don’t want her to wake DD.I have a car full of stuff to take to the tip on my lunch break, and stacks of paid stuff to get through. I have also run out of filter cartridges for the UV filter on the water system so need to order those 💰😳… off grid water is not cheap!Have fab days all xx9 -
Spent 3 hours trying to get a sofa in my mothers house yesterday evening.. sometimes I hate being a tiny female person.. in my head I am 6ft 4 and can benchpress a medium sized truck! I did reattach a door though.
This morning I have emailed school, twice .. 2 different things. I also emailed a report to Squeaks school.. and I have requested hospital records from when Twinkle was born. I was not told what hapened in theatre, other than 'at least 14 units transfused' and I need to know.
I have 3 parcels to sort postage for.... and 2 letters to post.. and Boogs prescription to pick up.
I need to ring the prescription team at dr's because the GF flour has milk in it.. *shrug* .. and the bike shop to get a price for a service.
I want to finish this first sleeve for Harper and make a start on the second, wash my hair because it is disgusting and shuffle laundry .. I best start with drinks and feeding the furry sharks!
ASB .. I hope Missy is feeling better this morning.. How is the Master doing? Is he better? And you too of course, are you on the mend?Valli .. I hope you are finding time to rest in the midst of all this 'busy' you are doing! As an oncology patient you should be eligible for a blue badge.. even if it is only used to attend hospital appointments it should save you some quids and enable you to park closer to the toilet. My Da got his for the same reason, Dot and Squeak both have one too, they save us a fortune in hospital parking (and our car fits in the spaces!)LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
thanks ASB - it’s just the way I am made. I used to describe myself (when teaching) as a Weeble…a toy that was advertised ‘weebles wobble but they don’t fall down’, which other Flyladies might remember. I was too old to have one though 🤣. Mrs Positive, me. (that would have been a good username, actually).
Blue badge mmm… rubs chin. I think I did look into it before and I didn’t appear to be eligible.
Friend coming round this morning to book our trip to Liverpool. We’ve now decided to stay over so i will see if I can use my Red Letter Day voucher. Spending it is causing me more trouble than it’s worth. At this rate it’ll all be splurged on afternoon teas…i am NOT going in a helicopter, on a zip wire or having a hot air balloon ride. And i don’t think i want to go up the Shard either *tremble*. Some of the things i might have considered are too far away and I don’t like Spa Days. Gosh I sound really ungrateful.

Morning, I'm sneaking back in as been missing for the last few days, as I've just been enjoying some much needed lazy time.
My list for today
Get dressed
Feed the animals
Do paid stuff
Attend uni classes
Revise for upcoming exam
Tidy up the kitchen, wash dishes, dry, and put away.
Dust the living room
Sort bags/clothes/lunches for tomorrow
Think that is enough for me to be tackling today, hope everyone has a lovely Wednesday.7 -
Well I have builders, (they reckon a week of work) doing 'things' to my house, the place is covered in dust, yesterday they told me they had cleared up!This morning, I hoovered round at 6am, under the thought keep the dust down as there will be more today, and got half a bagless thing of dust up off the floor with out even trying. Now I have one drilling in the lounge, the other is drilling in the bathroom. They laid a new small area of cement in the lounge, went for a break, mean while cat 1 has wandered through it!! lovely paw prints, but they are not too deep, and will be covered over by some tiles, so no real damage done, but it has taught them to close the door, or let me know, so I can watch for cats.I'm currently hiding in the spare bedroom out of the way.I am seriously thinking of keeping someone in to help me clean when they have finished, everything in the lounge is 'sheeted' but the dust is still getting under. Cleaning companies I have approached want £45 per hour to help clean one room and reckon 4 hours at least!, it is dry brick dust, no mould or anything nasty. I was in the wrong trade for my work. I think I may just do a little bit per day until it is done.I did also do the kitchen at 6.30am.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles
