Road To Financial Recovery

I've spent this afternoon setting up auto payments into the various pots and accounts for bills. I have been meaning to do it for ages but just end up manually doing it all when I get paid. There might still be a little manual payments but hopefully 95% of them will now just happen. I guess not a big change but every bit helps right.

Monday over with, it wasn't too bad of a day but I did get a bit of an afternoon slump. I think I need to start doing my high energy tasks in a morning and then from about 2pm I need to just do the mundane stuff as I just seem to lose focus for some reason.
Yesterday, I updated my finance spreadsheet to start including showing the savings pots and investments although I won't track the investments much but least its all there.
Today was food shopping day and came in under budget, although seeming to get less value for money with each passing week. I am hoping to take back up my joy of cooking once things settle down a little bit. Also topped up petrol with what I can for now, this should see me through until next week.

You probably get a mid afternoon slump same as everybody else 😆. Sometimes it's lack of fresh air, sitting too long, slump after eating, all the usual of beingstuck in a office. Its good to recognise and work around it as best you can 😃

Yeah I think so, I am trying to be better at not sitting at my desk for too long without a break for some fresh air. I am trying to just figure out a best way to work. I tend to be most productive on a night when no one else is awake and I can't sleep 🤣. I do tend to procrastinate a little though too, so I need to be a bit more stricter on myself.

Another decent day chipped off the working week and transfer Tuesday! Today has felt pretty productive despite sleeping through my alarm. I need to start trying to settle into a proper night mode. I am looking forward to my next batch of annual leave though. I have day off next week for docs appointment and then I have requested…sorry 'provided advance notice that I won't be in the office for two weeks in August' 🤣 Tbh they are usually pretty decent with holiday requests. I am hoping to have a chilled night, I have had a posh bath and food so a nice brew and some chilled music. I am finding myself not watching as much tv as usual, other than sports when it is on.
Transfer Tuesday
Car Pot - £75.00 added to this pot today. This now currently sits at £100, I am hoping to get this funded to £350.00 as soon as possible and this will cover the service and MOT. We are at a bit of a crunch point with the car, I suspect a new one is going to be required soon due to the mileage and use for work, my car allowance states my vehicle should be no more than 5 years old (although they have yet to query mine). I wonder whether I really should be potentially saving towards a new car rather than focus on the service and MOT. I figure that is a decision for future me to make.
Xmas - £25.00. This is now another pot that will slowly ramp up as we get towards 2nd part of the year. We currently have only £25.00 in this but I think from this month we will just fund it on payday and see what happens.
I know it is probably a bit too much but I would like to try put some level focus into us been able to travel a bit more.

I hope you have some nice plans for those two weeks off next month.
Also nice to hear you’re taking some time for your wellbeing/relaxation. Posh baths are my absolute lifesavers during the working week. Only thing I make time for that helps reset my nervous system on a regular basis.PBs £2050 (including £1k EF)

I’m loving myself the posh bath 😂 all my little potions and creams.
I’m trying my best to kind of just take work as it comes really now so I will see how that works out. I do expect it to get a little easier especially now as I’m setting my ground out that I’m not taking crap anymore.
We do have a few bits planned in August tbh so should be fun. We’ve got tickets for Blackpool Airshow plus we’re away a weekend at coast too plus we need to plan a short trip to Scotland for a family visit. My main priority in those two weeks off is to declutter as much as possible

Well that was an exhausting day, not made easier by me been wide awake since 2am. I ended up finishing work an hour early and then ended up falling asleep on bed…which is kind of counterproductive but a sign it was needed.
Not really much financial stuff to report, just ticking along now until payday, same as many others.
