Thank you. I have committed that this will be a break where there is no thought of work at all. It has been a tough few months so we are all looking forward to some fun.
I hope long term my emails will not be going back on my phone

@BeachSiren @DancingInTheRain Thank you.
Today we’ve just chilled and I’ve cut the grass and soaked up some of the sun. We’re all prepared ready for early flight tomorrow. This evening we’ve just had a bit of a quick lunch. And I plan on just watching footy n f1

Have a fantastic time. It sounds like it’s going to be such a well deserved break!

What a week - filled with fun, rest, sun and a whole lot of nice eating out. The only regret is I am now sat in our living room and not by the beach watching another beautiful sunset. We all had a really great time and enjoyed some of the culture but mainly spent time relaxing. It was exactly what was needed, but now it is time to switch back on. I did manager to avoid any work stuff and just totally lived in the moment which was really nice. We did get our wish to stay in Spain a little longer as the flight was delayed for 2 hours, so it has been a long day. I do need to sit and have a proper look at the budget and sort this out which I will do with a nice brew.
Hope everyone has enjoyed what seems like a very hot week in England too. My week is mainly full of site visits and meetings, so we will see how that goes. It is strange how being out of the daily rush of life gives you time to reflect on a lot of things and boy do I wish my job wasn't stressful. I do intend to try take a bit of a different approach with things, I want to just have simpler joys and just find enjoyment in the little stuff.
I will also play catch up with diaries too.

Just catching up on diaries @FootyFanDan. Fab to hear you sounding so confident- wow, you've been on quite the journey. Your confidence is totally justified. Also, re foxes. My mum had some visiting and they love jam sandwiches. Strawberry, ideally. Onwards and upwards love Humdinger x

😊 Aw thanks @Humdinger1 I am really trying to be a little more gentle with myself and honestly realised that work isn't my priority. Whilst, I absolutely want to be a good worker, I am no longer prepared to let my health and more importantly the time I spend away from work been impacted by work. This along with having a real goal with finances as helped align what I need to focus on. We haven't seen the fox for a while but I will bear that in mind.
Well today went okay as a first day back, 187 emails….could have been worse. My first meeting of the week also wasn't the easiest but could certainly have been tougher. I do have a pretty hectic month so I need to get my head down and hopefully focus.
In finances, I need to properly sort out pots and the transfer - I will use today as my transfer Tuesday
Transfer Tuesday
£200 into Emergency Funds - Now balance is £500.00! This is my first mini target hit, I am really happy that I have managed to keep up with this. I feel this would cover an appliance if we needed, or a travel emergency if required. I will keep building this up to my next target of £1000.
£50 into the investment account, total now stands at £115.89. This isn't a huge amount but I am now consistently funding this so that is at least a positive.
£100 into the LISA account. Again this is still very low but we are now going to focus on this been funded every month. Balance £125

I have also topped up with petrol that should be enough to cover me til next week hopefully when I can fill up again. Food shopping pot has also been topped up.
This month we are going to be focusing on getting everything decluttered and ready to go into a skip, this will then be ordered at end of June. We are desperate for a new bed/mattress and need to invest properly at this point in a decent one.

Emergency fund goal is to get to £1000 by end of 2026. I feel this gives me an achievable target, while also allowing me to build up pots for other expenses and keep topping up the investments and LISA account. I am aware I could throw so much more at savings but I am keen to also do the improvements we want to our place now and the things we need. I am hoping this gives us a good overall balance of savings while allowing us the funds to enjoy things too.
