We recently bought a new mattress from Dusk. It had a similar spec to the Simba we had before, and it’s won a Which? Best Buy award but was a fraction of the cost. Maybe worth a look.

    Great work on that EF!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend, ours has been a more chilled one. I spent yesterday sorting out my clothes on to hangers and now feel a lot better for it, as they were just not scattered all over before. The plan is to then sort through them and see what still fits and donate anything that doesn't.

Some of our spare funds have been used to purchase birthday gifts for family that occur in June, so good to get those accounted for early. We have also seen a lovely dining table that we like so we will start looking to save towards getting funds together for it. There is also a drama show with little one at end of month which we have purchased tickets for.

We have finally all acclimatised back to the good old English weather and none of us are missing sunny Spain at all…….🤣.

    Merry Monday.

Not too bad of a work day, my days are slowly getting easier. It is still going to take some time but hopefully will get there. I will be mainly office based this week, but might try a work from home day at some point. I have managed to not spend any personal spends on eating out today which is good, also no bought out coffee.

I have filled up the car this morning, I may need to increase this budget as it is costing more each week lately. A combo of a bit extra work travel and personal miles but something to keep an eye on. Food spends within budget so far this month.

We have found a few items we would like for the house so I have added target for these in YNAB and we will slowly build towards these items

    1. Dining Table
    2. Matteress
    3. Sideboard / Cupboard for storage (kitchen is so small so need a way to move some stuff around)

We will work towards these over the next few months, we are having a bit spare so hopefully won't take long. Both the table and mattress are of equal priority but suspect the matters will be the 1st thing we fund.

I had early night last night as I was exhausted, although still felt tired when I woke up, but today has gone pretty quick. I have bought a few bits for work lunches for the week with the remaining food budget for the week. I will do a list for the next online shop and get that ordered at some point through the week.

Hope Monday wasn't too bad for everyone.

Pleased work is getting easier, good to hear.

Great idea to utilise YNAB to save for items needed too. I've tried and failed with YNAB a few times but I enjoy seeing how it well it works for others.

@DancingInTheRain YNAB is probably not utilised the most efficient way at the moment, but I am slowly starting to get back used to it following a period without it. I do seem to feel more in control of money when I am using it (even if not to it full capacity )

Today has felt a long day, a lot of admin and deep work which has totally drained. I planned an early night yesterday which didn't happen and I also ended up not sleeping well at all but not really sure why. I have managed to not spend today on anything. I took lunch from home, I did also managed to throw soup all over our garden when the bag split! argh.

    Tuesday Transfers

£50 into Xmas fund - Balance is £50.00. We will need to start looking at funding this a bit more over the next few months.

£25.00 into the the investment pot - Balance now £141.16

£25.00 into the car pot - Balance £25.00

I am feeling tired, but spent an hour crafting with daughter before her bedtime and will probably spend an hour watching tv.

EDIT: Also put in a pot our first £50 towards the new matteress.

It normally does work quite well, especially over the last month or so. We normally have like a buffer in our account, so what ever is remaining in there by the time we get more income gets released into the transfer Tuesday pot. We usually get a pay pretty much most weeks. I find transfer Tuesday better than it just sitting there building up.

Oooo I will be following along to see how you progress with that Christmas food box

Happy Hump Day! We are over that hump and heading towards the weekend :D

Today has been a day of travel and site meetings, so behind massively with emails / admin tasks are building up. I treated myself to a cheat breakfast and coffee this morning as a little pick me up as not feeling the best. A few bits of uncomfortable stuff at work so just keeping my head down. Tonight's plan is to just chill and watch a bit of tv, hopefully drop off to sleep early as we have a very early start tomorrow as daughter as a school trip.

Tomorrow another day of meetings unfortunately and then maybe work from home Friday.
