Tuesday felt how my Monday should have felt….BUT that isn't important as nothing ruins Transfer Tuesday 🤣, although this one feels a bit like cheating as its payday I am still counting it though!

    Transfer Tuesday

Emergency Fund - £70 added to the pot, this is now at £600

Car Stuff - £50 added to the pot so now sat at £100

Xmas - £50 added to the pot ow sat at £125.

Also sent £100 to the investment pot.

It is really good to be getting to see these numbers slowly moving up.

That emergency fund is building up quickly now!

I love how you’ve got a positive spin on a Tuesday. Now for the rest of the days…

@Dakota_Rose Yes that emergency fund is looking good, we also have £100 in our matteress fund too. There is going to come a cross over where a choice is to be made though when I hit £1k across all pots I am going to be soooo tempted to move it all into the emergency fund just to celebrate hitting that target. I must be patient, my goal is 1k by December and I am well on route to that.

Once you have your various pots filled, you have the correct number of twelfths towards the annual costs, money in replacement of tech and white goods, money in a pot for house maintenance etc etc the need for a 'general' emergency fund fades somewhat as there is less and less that can happen that you havent already accounted for ie even if you have no idea when the fridge will stop you know it will stop at some point so if you have money in a white goods replacement pot then it's not an 'emergency', just a 'somethin that happens' iyswim.

So, I think I'm saying - put it wherever pleases you the most just now 😂 main thing is, you've got it 👏👍️

You are totally right I think at the moment the important bit is that I am now at a point where I am consistent in allocating funds to savings. The reality I suppose is that should anything crop up and I need to take money from other pots to fund the emergency I would. I do think the overall emergency fund is probably not a need - it should really be a divide across areas that we know we will eventually need to replace things.
