Road To Financial Recovery

Bit of a spendy day yesterday. Daughter has a sleepover at one of her friends, so we took the opportunity to go have a date day. We had food and drinks, plus cinema and some junk food / snacks for the evening. It was a lovely day and just nice to switch of from what has been a pretty tough work week. I have been and done the food shopping and filled car (which is seeming to become more expensive). I need to tweak the budget a bit for this, and for food too to be bit more realistic with the current finance climate. I would hopefully then stop feeling frustrated when we are over budget. I do think we need to do a bit on an inventory of what we have though too.
Rest of the day will be watching some TV but then also got to do a bit of admin stuff.

It was lovely day and just what was needed.

Sounds like the date day was much needed. You work hard so need some downtime. Also you need to make the most of child free time. Maybe introduce a pot for this?
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪1 -
Oo a pot for this sounds a good idea, it would make it a bit more guilt free. I think we do need to try our best to maximise some of the child free time we get to do some more stuff together.

Monday was Mondayish!. I started off productive until the office got loud. A project that needed others input before I could start it never happened so needs revisiting tomorrow. I managed breakfast, home coffee, and lunch that was pre bought so a good financial day was had.
I've cancelled Annual leave I had booked for next week, just so busy and tbh don't really need that week off. I need to decide whether I am going to apply for a job that I have seen that really interests me.
Hope Monday wasn't too bad for others

Happy Friday Eve!. Well this week has absolutely flown by, and I have slowly started to gain a bit of momentum with the tasks (except for today). I went to work but then I just couldn’t focus for some reason, can’t even explain why maybe the email pinging every two minutes. Anyhow, I decided to come home ‘ill’ have a few hours just to mentally stabilise (I know that sounds dramatic) but once I had napped, picked up daughter and re-focused I was able to get some stuff done. Tonight will be a later night than normal but I am content with that for now.
We had a tired child and parents today, as we decided to let daughter stay up for the england match, she lasted til about 10:15 before finally going to bed.
Not much to report financially, I still haven’t cancelled leave that I am due next week..eek. I wasn’t going to have leave as I expected that some projects I had kind of committed to would run right to the wire but luckily that has been avoided. I might comprimise and have Thursday / Friday off.

Sounds like the mental health break did you good therefore doesn't sound dramatic just that you're listening to your body.
Still taking a couple of days of next week sounds like a good shout too, the weather forecast looks good for a vitamin D top up☀️

It certainly did the trick. I have had a much better day today which can only be a positive. I have cancelled mon-weds holidays so will work those but then a nice long Weekend will be lovely and something to look forward to.
