Cars always seem to need something expensive done just when you start getting on top of savings don't they? Totally get your argh moment but well done on not needing debt to resolve the issue.

It is a positive that I can cover without too much damage to the finances, and I am grateful for that. It does just feel a little annoying, but the joys of car ownership I guess. It is likely to be a week or so before I need to part with any cash so I can stare at my savings balance a little longer 🤣
Tomorrow is early payday thanks to Monzo. I do feel like today has been a really productive day work wise, I worked from home and somehow managed to just be able to crack on with stuff and really make some progress on several long standing issues. The additional hour or so in bed felt like a real treat.

Another office day today which meant an early commute, I’m not minding these too much at the moment but getting up today certainly wasn’t as easy to convince my inner self 😂
I’m celebrating a small victory ( and noting it here so future me knows it’s possible)….my email inbox is empty 🥳 zilch, nothing, zero in it! No outstanding email tasks either. I do still have a few things of general tasks on my todo list but I’m officially back to scratch.
Today I will treat myself to bought out coffee. The garage have been instructed to do the repair for the car but likely be a week or so til I hear any updates.3 -
What is this empty inbox thing you speak of? 😂 you have reached the promised land my friend 🤣.
Rubbish news about the car. Is it worth considering managing without one until the new/company car comes through for you or is that completely unmanageable in the short term? I hate that when things look up financially something comes along and wipes out the lot.PBs £3050 (including £1k EF & £1k Christmas fund)

😂I’m pretty sure it will be a short lived euphoria, but right now a win is a win.
I’ve considered not getting car fixed and just seeing things out until I get company sorted. I need to chase the company car thing today to see how long realistically it will be. I could probably survive without it short term but it does make some things a bit of a pain

For the odd pain thing is there a car club or option of short hire? Or taxi ?

Yeah potentially, I think most things we could just work around with public transport to be honest. It is going to likely depend on the exact amount the repair will cost. I was really hoping it was a simple fix and I could just get it through to MOT / Service next year before deciding on a company car or not. I've had a look at the company cars and there are some nice options but pretty much all are either EV (which isn't suitable) or Hybrid. There are some nice options though
Once they give me the full diagnosis of what the cost is to repair I can make a decision.

Finally Friday. Today is a day in the quiet office and should be a pretty low key day. Last night I moved all the money around into the various areas needed and updated my budget. We’ve now got £1k in the emergency fund so that’s a positive. We’ve got the ‘C word’ under control at the minute but definitely needs figuring out what we still need to do. It’s a distance away yet, but I’m looking forward to not having to eat our dinner all sat on the floor 😂..it’s the little joys.
Hope you have fab Fridays1
