Road To Financial Recovery

@Sun_Addict Thank you, we are all looking forward to it. I am looking forward to switching off for a bit and some rest and recovering in the sun can never be bad right ha. I was gifted a self care box type thing for xmas and there is some stuff I wouldn't use, but maybe I have undervalued how nice skins creams can be 😊.
@Dakota_Rose I have always enjoyed a nice soak in bubbles ha, I think it comes from childhood, my dad always had baths just to unwind. I could definitely use this as a tool to help the week feel less stressful
I have maybe just never made time for a proper routine, always feeling life just gets so busy, but if it makes me feel good then I need to find some time. If I am being honest the amount of time spent doom scrolling or mindlessly watching YouTube, I could deffo spend my time better. I often tell myself life is to busy or I don't have time, the truth is that is just an excuse. I keep telling myself I want change (much like I did with finances and never did anything about it). It took me so long to change my financial habits, even still I probably am not as strict as I could be.
My financial task this week is to begin closing down some of the CC's. I also need to look at finishing sorting out old clothes to donate.

I do enjoy reading your diary @FootyFanDan , you are very relatable and it's lovely to hear about the fun things you do with the family and how you account for these things with the budget. You're doing really well!

Well Monday….Mondayed (I am defo saying this is a word 🤣). It felt such a long day, but I am feeling a bit more positive today. I committed to having a clean sweep of everything I have going off and created some trackers. Also had a bit of a chat with partner about how I am feeling at work and what is causing it (mainly me feeling unproductive and forgeting stuff - today I came home to some adhd friendly planning stuff and stationary which was nice of her….also who doesn't love a new bit of stationary :D
I've collected my trainers and shirts - the trainers are too small…my foot sizing is so bloody frustrating. I am usually a 10, however some materials I am a 9.5 so I always end up never quite getting the right size. I think this is why I prefer shopping in person but then sometimes it's too busy haha. I think I am just complicated 🤣
Anyhow, today wasn't too bad and two more major jobs have now been ticked off and gone well. Also decided I am going to maybe start transferring little amounts over to different savings on a Tuesday (was going to be Mondays but I forgot lol, so its now Tuesday Transfers!)
Tuesday's Transfer's
£15 into Emergency Funds - Now balance is £265.00
£15 into ISA Investment Pot - Only just started but balance now £65.00
£25 into Help To Buy account - again only just new and decided that long term it is a good idea to put into this. - Balance £25.00
These are pretty low amounts and might not have much impact, but hoping it really builds the habit of putting money away and motivates me to keep funding.
I've also kept up with the skin care day/night routines which I know sound really simple but its made me feel better (even if it's just in my head).
Did a shop yesterday to top up some of the fresh food and work lunch stuff. I can't believe it is already hump day tomorrow and it's going to be pretty unproductive unfortunately as I am booked in meetings from 11:00 - 16:00.
Hope everyone is well.

Great motivation there! Monday most definitely Mondayed (almost every week I find). I think said the same on my diary this week 😂.

I am also keen on Monday Money Moves 🤣
Ugh can this week end already!. I am so ready for a break, I am at the overwhelmed stage…probably why I am now wide awake. Today has just been a constant meeting pretty much which meant a skipped lunch, I did treat myself to a midweek coffee though. I am trying to be better with eating, I was up super early so was able to have breakfast
SATS seem to have gone without too much of an hiccup for the daughter. She's been invited to an impromptu party at the weekend so need to figure that into plans if she wants to go.

Happy Friday, this week seemed to drag a bit more than others have lately. The last few days have consisted heavily around meetings and a training course, so had a few bits of urgent admin I needed to do tonight and a bit tomorrow but in more positive news I have now fully transitioned to my new role today. I have handed over 90% of my projects so that is a big relief. I will of course get more work, but it will be stuff I should be doing and stuff I am very competent with.
We don't have major plans this weekend, although we will be taking the daughter to her friends party and then having a coffee date. On Sunday it is the final home game of the season, so I am off out for a few drinks before game (NOTE TO SELF. _ JAGER BOMBS ARE THE DEVIL).
We have had a pretty successful week with the SATS, and now that is out of the way it does feel like we can settle a little and get into holiday mode. I have a pretty busy week next week with work stuff planned, but I think maybe finally I can start getting to a place where I might make some progress
No real money news to report.
