I’m glad you’ve had a better day. Food spends can so easily get out of hand and are a really good place to start for looking at little savings. Hopefully you’ll be able to start clawing back a few pennies.

Food spends were very low this week which will hopefully save the budget. We only needed to top up a few bits as we already have a decent amount in. £46 spent. Petrol spends will be required tomorrow but hoping to fill up which will see me pretty close to payday.

A decent Monday although didn't feel like I achieved much ha. We finally finished stranger things last night, gosh my emotions were all over the bloody place 😂. The little one is already trying to figure out what they are talking me into watching next.
No spends today, but in the morning I will need to top up petrol, the plan this week is to also make sure I take my lunch to work. I have all the food in so no excuses, other than being lazy, my plans long term are to maybe treat myself to a bought coffee and lunch on a Friday. This would be a huge improvement on what is has been for the last few months so that is my aim.
Hope everyone had a good day

Well I totally sucked at keeping my diary up to date this week 😂, but I have kept checking on other diaries. It has been a pretty full on week to be honest and I also ended up working last night on site due to someone letting me down. On the positive side it will be overtime and added money I wasn't expecting, but totally wiped me out energy wise. Today will just be a chilled day, maybe a gaming day
I did manage to stick with the lunches through the week and treat on Friday and the added bonus of my coffee been free so very MSE 😊. I need to package up some jeans that were ordered that ended up been not right fitting, so I will do that today when I get a nice coffee first. I also need to go food shopping either today or tomorrow
My manager did have a chat with me last week about a role that he thought I wanted to do within the company and why I hadn't applied, so that was an interesting discussion and I did end up applying. Although there is potentially another opportunity coming my way outside the company so we will see how that works out.
Finance wise everything seems to be moving in the right direction so that's a good thing. Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.

I always opt for Wednesday as a treat day to get me over the hump. Friday I can rattle through as the end is in sight

That sounds like a good idea, like a mid week boost sort of thing.

The new role sounds exciting. Would it help the life/work balance somewhat?

The external role would definitely give me a more balanced life and seems like it would be less chaotic but it's a step into the unknown that worries me. The internal role again is a step closer to what I want to do, but the reason I didn't apply is just not really sure how that sits with my current workload, I was encouraged to apply so did so. I don't mind working for a wage but it also needs to be balanced too. I enjoy the challenge but at the moment there are some work projects that are well outside my knowledge levels so feel uncomfortable if that makes sense.

At one point all your jobs were the unknown. Then you got trained and could do them 😀
Also, when you get a new position in any company you go do that one leaving your old role behind ??? Is it still in the same location and you think they'll take advantage.?

The external role will be more along the lines of what I enjoy about my current role and less of the technical stuff. Will be pretty much the same money, but with less workload as the customer base is just not as large. It is in the same area so no change in travel, but one benefit I have in my current role is that it's pretty flexible. The internal role is again pretty much the direction I want to go in but has got the baggage of my current work and there will be a handover process so who knows how long that would be. I am pretty comfortable with the options I have right now, if anything (as silly as it sounds) it is nice to know there are opportunities for me outside my current company. It will be a few months before the external role comes to fruition so plenty of time to see what happens.
