I tried YNAB but found that my wages were wrongly input and no idea how to change it so I just deleted the whole thing 😂

I know YNAB doesn’t stick for everyone, and it took me a few attempts for it to stick but it’s been a game changer for me. I dunno maybe it’s just in my head that it works but trying to keep my spending up to date with spreadsheet starts well but by mid month I’ve stopped.

I’ve setup a shortcut on my phone e so that everytime I use Apple Pay it auto opens YNAB for me to log the transaction so it stops that friction.

I’ve seen somewhere on YouTube where someone has it so that it can update a spreadsheet with transaction data and stuff everytime a transaction from Apple Pay or you upload a photo but not sure how complex that was to setup 😂

Hope everyone had a good Saturday, I had football and decided to meet friends for a few drinks before the game, not too much spent tbh but after the last few weeks it was just nice to switch out of been constantly attached to work.

Friday we spent a few hours watching stranger things which we are quickly getting through. Yesterday morning a work issue threatened to ruin my Saturday again but I managed to just push it away and will worry about that tomorrow. Today, I need to do the food shopping and I also plan on going to the tip, I want to get this done early in the hope it won't be too busy.

Tip run was done, I got there early and it wasn’t too bad. It’s been a pretty busy day, finally created a bit more room in kitchen but it’s work in progress. I did a little bit of work admin to give me an head start on what I expect to be a busy week.

All monies have been transferred into their required pots.

Finally the weekend. It’s been an hectic week as expected but I’ve managed to end it feeling pretty calm about work things. I’ve put in place a few boundaries and this has helped.

Financial wise there isn’t too much happening , petrol and food spends are within budget at the minute although an extra unexpected work trip means an extra top up will be needed petrol wise. I need to sit this weekend and get the car insurance renewed. We’ve got the funds to be paying it in full. Nothing extra has been put in the savings funds just yet.

This weekend I expect to be pretty relaxed although need to do our food shopping and I will also need to sort through my old clothes. I’m starting to get new clothes and hopefully slowly build up. I don’t need lots but at the minute I have hardly any decent fitting clothes

That sounds like a good place to be in - calm about work and within budget and things ticking along nicely. Perhaps there are some places you can get cheap new clothes, e.g. charity shops, supermarkets are good for the basics, or some of the cheap but ethically questionable online stores. That’s good to be able to pay the car insurance in full and will save you a bit.

it’s definitely work in progress on the work front @MillQueen but I’m trying to get to a point where I’m not constantly feeling under pressure. This week I’ve spent a bit of time putting planning ahead at the top of the list and also tracked my tasks a bit better. I’ve found having these tasks clearly visible and trackless really helped.

I’m glad we’ve the funds to get car insurance sorted early as this will save money too.
