Thank you 😊 - Yeah I really do need to try and enjoy being present in the moment, I have realised that doesn't always have to be expensive. I do hope long term that we can have a balanced approach.

It is a strange one, I spent so long in debt and getting things cleared, to even think of having CC's have always been a no no, however I have managed to be able to use them wisely most of the time. In the past they were used to fund things I clearly couldn't afford, now that isn't the case. They have been used to buy me a little bit of time when needed. Eventually I would like to have a fully funded emergency funds so the card isn't needed but the truth is rightly or wrongly I am not in that place yet.

Happy Easter all, hope everyone has had a good day. I have managed to just relax, had nice lunch and then watched football. I have done some listening to podcasts on YouTube and then plan for rest of night is to not do very much.
We have more to top up the fuel spends with due to travel to Scotland but it was nice to see family. Also need to look at the food shopping at some point. We plan to go to cinema tomorrow as we have two free tickets so will be a cheapish day out.

Eventually I would like to have a fully funded emergency funds so the card isn't needed but the truth is rightly or wrongly I am not in that place yet.Once you get that lovely pay rise you'll get it funded in no time at all. Also, once you get fully into the system of funding all your expenses for the year ahead it also takes the pressure off an emergency fund as there's only true emergencies that it should be needed for, everything else that you can forsee is being funded on a monthly basis

The first aim is that emergency fund getting fully funded, but yes I do think that if I genuinely put my mind to it then I can achieve getting annual things fully funded. Our housing costs in the reality of the world vs my income is minor. We have been in far more precarious financial situations. Between now and the year end (which seems forever away) I want to get the emergency fund to at least 1k, I also would like to increase my investments a little.

This weekend has been lovely, a bit tiring with the travel and it is always nice seeing family but god I love my own comforts haha. I am going to relax a this evening with an audiobook (reminder that I need to cancel that this month) I got 3 months at 0.99 p/m from am@zon, I haven't actually used it as much as I thought I would and certainly wouldn't feel value at full price. I tend to listen to YouTube a fair bit and watch this a lot - my personal money funds a premium sub which I do feel benefit from. I do need to have a review of my personal subscriptions and see what,, if anything can be removed.
Our neighbour also decided to trim back our hedge whilst we were away - not her biggest fan to be honest so trying to decide if this was a passive aggressive action or not…but for now I will give her the benefit of the doubt 😂. Either way it was really nice of her. The neighbour on the other side of us, has recently lost her husband so we are trying to be supportive as we can to her.
Tomorrow I also need to start decluttering a bit more and look for skips, the trips to tip have helped but just isn't going down enough…I mean it would help if we didn't feel like our home was an amazon cardboard storage plant! The issue is not really sure where a skip can be put so that needs review. We are also needing to look at meal prepping properly too.

Could you get one of those skip bags if you don’t have room for a normal one? They hold quite a bit and are a lot cheaper too. You can also hire huge bins on wheels instead of a skip. Worth looking into.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪2 -
oh interesting I didn't know they were a thing, I will check it out thank you.

Thank you @BlueJ94 I will do some research, we potentially have space on the front garden area - but it is grass so worried it will ruin it - ideally we would have it in and out pretty quickly. The budget probably won't cover it this month but it gives us a fair time to get everything prepared and ready to go
