Afternoon all.
Not a great deal achieved this morning. I have
- done some money-shifting and updated my accounts;
- cut some new plastic chopping sheets in half because they were too big to fit in the DW, so I now have 8 instead of 4, and can throw the old ones out - they've done me proud for about 7 years, but have become badly discoloured, so I think they deserve to go;
- received notification that I have been moved over to the 8-legged energy company, so I've been trying to get to grips with their website and phone app;
- been sent a date for my first cataract op, so there is a whole booklet to be read before the pre-op phonecall which is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon;
- given my pot of indoor jasmine a shower, as I realised that it was actually very dusty - that was proper flying!
We've got horrid grey skies and intermittent rain here too. It's due to clear between 3 and 4pm, so Rosie will be happy to wait for her walk.
I am still struggling to get my head round the system I was using 3 months ago for photo sorting.
Better go and find some leftovers to make into soup for lunch.5 -
Hello all. Have skim read so hopefully you're all good.
It was pouring with rain first thing here but had cleared by the time I finished my work shift so I had a nice walk with Poppet and briefly called in on a friend who's just out of hospital.
Dailies are done and I've done a laundry shuffle, put the duster on a stick around the living room and hoovered with the long attachment all the nooks and crannies downstairs.Spend less now, work less later.6 -

Hi all
Hope P is doing OK Round. Bit of a drama with a member of my team whose Father is very poorly, I sent her home early because she was a bit upset. Her poor Dad is not getting the medical help he needs and it upset me a bit too, and I don't even know him!!
Just a day left before I have a week off and there is so much to do. It's getting to me a bit, I want to go to work and do a good job not just constantly rush things. The pressure is relentless. I am supposed to be getting a new team member but they will need training from scratch which I will have to do somehow. Oh well it pays the bills.
DH has done the basics, I intend to fly a bit tomorrow.6 -
YL I could have written your post. I am constantly rushing absolutely everything.
I can’t remember the last time I just took my time with something, whether it be a work task,
a simple thing like folding the laundry or even a shower! Take care of yourself xx
Me and the children have all been diagnosed with chest infections. I half expected it as we all feel so grotty. The show must go on though and I’m doing a shift tomorrow night. Fire banked up with coal for the night and I’ve moved the car to the top of the hill as we are forecast snow tonight x

ASB I hope you all recover soon.
Copious amounts of rain here today; practically floated the car back from uni today (ok slight exaggeration but it was jolly wet).
- managed a bit of washing up and tidying before uni.
- the lady who is receiving my old assessment materials finally sent over a pre-paid label for me to put on the parcel. To my surprise, I noticed that Yodel have a pickup point actually at uni in the Student Union which is the same building as me, so I have now dropped it off and my desk is clearer and I have decluttered!
- managed to start checking scores from yesterday's assessment as I am Zooming with the lady tomorrow to complete it.
- nice, fairly straightforward student today although she is the oldest apprentice I've ever assessed (her age has a 6 in front) hence many of my tests have to be observations and comments only as I can't report scores for people over the ceiling age of the test! I'd forgotten just how tiring it is doing 2 assessments on consecutive days, even though I only cut down to 1 per week in October........glad I have only agreed to put in a few 'double shifts'.
- another booking via uni so have sorted out paperwork for that; the student also thinks he may have ASC so have emailed him to say I can assess for the dyslexia but certainly not the ASC. Dug out ASC screening forms so I can discuss it with him.
- various bits of admin done.
I was going to have an early night as I'm so shattered - seems it won't be as early as planned but at least I've done some paperwork.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
Good evening.
Well, today wasn't really any better 🙄
1 x WM, dried in TD as the rain has been persisting down all day. Part of the skirting has been washed, sanded & sugar soaped. I even managed to get a coat of paint on it. Back to bnq tomorrow for some lining paper & wallpaper paste (I asked DH if we needed anything the other day, but he failed to mention this 🤦♀️) I am hoping he can paper one wall which can then be painted in a rich, dark purple (feature wall). The rest will have to wait. I will then be able to move the kallax units & toys back, ready for work next week. We are not very fast at achieving these things!
Money sent for the damp work we had done on Monday as I forgot to do it yesterday.
DD2 popped in, which doesn't help me achieve anything tbh. It is hard to be motivated when you have your (adult) child laying on the sofa endlessly scrolling 🙄
We did pop out to the big hobby shop to buy a birthday present for one of the minded children, and Mr L next door for cat food & bin bags. I still need to buy something for the other soon-to-be-4 year old, but anything arts & crafty would only be abused at home (they are not allowed pens or scissors at home, as they have proved that they can't be trusted - a number of times! Her hair has grown back now....). She is supervised here, but I can't control what happens at home.
ASB I hope you are all feeling better soon.
Round I hope your day was uneventful!
I think I will head to bed now. Sleep well peeps6 -
ASB - hope you're better soon.Not much flying done today, but I did have a mega day (well, by my standards) yesterday. This morning I took A to a garden centre as he wanted to buy some seeds to send to his niece for her birthday. There were some very heavy showers on and off this morning and we got caught in one going back to the car, which was fortunately parked in a disabled bay right outside the garden centre, but trying to juggle the umbrella, one of A's sticks and helping him into the car in pouring rain was quite a challenge! After that we went to our favourite local pub for a drink and then home for lunch.After lunch I wrapped the seeds and put them in an envelope and took them to the post office. This afternoon A watched A Room with a View on Film 4 whilst I washed up and generally fiddle-faddled around (somehow I never seem to make the most of these rare times when A is engaged in something for a couple of hours and I can do my own thing). I made tea, then supper, washed up and vacc'd around again, quickly. Night time eye routine done and I'm going to bed shortly.6

Morning
CofG I often find it hard to relax on an evening if I have a bit of time to myself. I did really well after Christmas staying away from social media and not mindlessly scrolling but that has gone out of the window!
Get well soon vibes to ASB and anyone else who needs them x
I was wide awake at 5am so decided to get up. I may as well have a coffee and start work. I want to run or cycle later depending on the weather and there is flying to be done.
Hope everyone has a good Friday x.7
