I have amazed myself. Downstairs dusted and vacc’d. Bathroom s&s. Looked a bit closer at the tiles (usually I employ an avoidance tactic), so I wiped them down, floor to ceiling. Gibble rehoused, fruit bowl restocked. Indoor plants watered. Seed sucking monster searched for in the dining room, but to no avail.
Mr F is not trained in the flylady ways, unlike Mr N, who puts me to shame. However, DH did decide to Clean The Study this morning. This had been over promised since last weekend. It turns out that the motivation was that he has unearthed (felt brave enough to mention??!) yet more of DMiL’s treasures. He has banged nails on the wall, horrendous picture treasures gave been squeezed into place. I have shut the door. DSiL, who does not share his penchant for the Treasure, advised me that I should allocate him a room, let him treasure it out, then shut the door. Job done.5 -

My DH is also untrainable in Flylady ways, and by the time we bought our first 'together' house in not-quite-the-Far-East-of-England I had decided that I couldn't cope with all his hobby stuff (including war games figures, model railway layouts, model paints, hundreds of books on old railway lines, and piles of magazines) intruding into our shared life. One of the attractions of the house was the double garage, which we designated the man cave. I had a small room for my study.
Unfortunately, when we moved here, this house is about half the size of our previous one, so DH now has to make do with a single garage, which is piled to the rafters. The carpet (a very old one) is almost invisible. I refuse to do any Flying past that door (It says 'Stationmaster' on it, whilst the door which leads into the utility and on into the rest of the house says 'Stationmistress', so I have a much bigger area to maintain). Just occasionally, when I take him a coffee, I will carry out the dirty cup from the day before, or remind him to empty his recycling/trash/shredder. If he is happy sitting in a mess, surrounded by his treasures, that's his problem, not mine. Meanwhile the smallest bedroom also acts as my study. I have to move things out to make room for any overnight visitors, but that is a small price to pay for an uncluttered space of my own
This morning it has taken me just over an hour to clean through the whole of the house except the utility (which is admittedly not spotless - but then we don't actually live in it) and I am a happy bunny. I even mopped the kitchen floor
I forgot to mention that the book buying people got back to me yesterday afternoon to apologise - "A technical issue occurred yesterday which impacted a small number of traders resulting in their collection automatically being rebooked." I will trade with them again.
Rosie is asking for a walk, so I'll grab a bite of lunch and then take her the long way through the big woods - we haven't been there for a while. Will catch up with you all later xxx

DD successfully dropped off. DS keeps texting me to say he’s missing me - I’ve responded, then texted his dad to say a) take his phone off him and b) shouldn’t he be on the beach / in a pool?! Not ashamed to say I’ve turned my phone off.Leftover pizza scoffed for late lunch. Damp patch in boot room stared at again, not heard from builder, tbh I’m just going to make a feature of it 🤣🤣.
Very early I know but I’m heading for a bath and into my PJs. Then it’s read a book afternoon xx6 -
i have been to the other side of town to source a big chicken. and premade Yorkshire Puddings, which, for the life of me, I cannot make. I assume, being Lancastrian, it’s genetic 🤣. Invitations have been extended for Sunday Lunch to the aged Ps and the offspring.
Cupboard doors are all upstairs but it will take two of us, one to hold the doors in place, one to attend to the hinges. I tried, and failed, to do it on my own.
Still not cleaned my room

Ha I don't make Yorkshire puddings, I can (well I used to), but I don't. I grew up in a household where Sunday lunch was compulsory and seemed to take up most of the day so I think I rebelled against this as an adult. If we have a roast during the week we have frozen Yorkshires.
Very little Flying done today as I decided that we needed a day out. I did scrub the shower while I was in it first thing and put all the clean washing away. Nice walk on the coast and fish and chips in a cafe. Very relaxing.
Wine and crisps now, fire lit and a podcast on while I write my journal. I am cycling on a group ride tomorrow which is nerve wracking because it's socialising and keeping up with the group at the same time. It will do me good.5 -

I know it’s not the oven because DiL can make toad in the hole in my oven and it’s fine.
Bedroom dusted. folding chairs bought online because I only have 1 spare chair and i’m sick of borrowing chairs. Clicked, collect tomorrow

Clicked, collect tomorrowThe secret to good Yorkshires is to make the batter the night before and leave it in the fridge. The next day it will look a bit odd but beat it up again and it will be fine and you will great YPs.Haven't been on for a couple of days so can't remember where I was at. A had his two x-rays so we're just waiting for the results. Not much flying done - just shopping, cooking and washing up really. I'll have to do some soon though.6 -
life's too short.. buy the frozen yorkshires!
I've done 3 loads of washing today... woot.. get me!
ASB.. I'm glad to hear all went well
