    Volunteers for many things seem to have become almost an extinct breed........
    People likelly to be working until later in life leaving them with little energy or desire for further commitments perhaps?
    Young mums having to work to pay mortgage? 
  • In our village there are a lot of early retired and retired people.  In the neighbouring villages some people are working as Seal Wardens at Donna Nook as it is the Seal Season at the moment at the count this week there were 1116 seal pups.

    I heard someone on Sara Cox's show on Friday, requesting some music as they were driving to Donna Nook with their children to see the seals- from somewhere away.
    Not an amazing weekend to be out there  seal watching! very wild, windy & wet.
    I have been out there in the past- but nothing like those pup numbers at all.
    Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

    Goodness! I probably only saw a handful but I think it was very much later when most of the seals would have left
