Not sure about the chemo/immunotherapy either, Dawn , but what I have found as I've gone along is that everyone is different. He could be fine. He could be very tired. He might have side effects. He might not. But the thing is to let the doctors know if you think there is anything at all. They have lots of ways to deal with a it. But it's good that he seems cheerful. Sometimes it's the knowing what is happening to you is the best medicine. But as I said before you take care of yourself. I know Himself is exhausted by all this.
But of a trauma today. Thought there was a very heavy rain shower only to find that it was coming from the flat upstairs. It was like being in the middle of a waterfall. The property has just been sold and there is nobody living there so I had to find the estate agent to try and contact the new owners. They haven't turned up yet but the water has stopped. My neighbour (who knows about these things) says he thinks it's something to do with the boiler (way beyond my expertise) but it was an awful lot of water which went on for hours. And it has to be fixed and a bit sharpish, I think.
One of my little friend's birthday today. Number 5. She is so pleased with her sparkly bag and accessories. She's a very sparkly, pink kind of girl
So I'm just about to make Himself the leftover fajitas from cousin's lunch yesterday. This should be interesting. He's never had fajitas before. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Thank you for all your concern. I must admit I am absolutely exhausted. I was asleep by 6 pm yesterday but woke about 10 pm. Really didn't want to get up this morning but had another valuation appointment. She was very helpful, gave the same figure as yesterday's agent (with a lot of detail about similar properties in the area). She also suggested putting it up for auction, as the process is much quicker (28 day turn around) and the likely buyers would take it as it is. However I don't agree with the modern auction - I think it excludes first time buyers and the builders run it as a cartel.
Had planned to bring back books and jigsaws, as they could go straight to the cs (with a quick dust) but decided against it. I started on a corner unit in the front room and have a bag of paper, a bag of rubbish and a few useful bits. Various PS controllers and a DVD player have been left out on top - will check against the list but think they are all things that the electrical retailer will take.
Went upstairs, took the pile of jigsaws and games out of the bottom of the wardrobe. Some pieces are missing and wasn't sure how to proceed. threw a games console box downstairs. Went in the front befroom and threw down some large boxes including a guitar box and a box for a 50" tv. That gave me access to the big built in cupboard in the alcove. Opened the doors and wished I hadn't. Floor to ceiling shelves and they're all rammed. A set of encyclopedias and other books, a lot of proper wool blankets which I think were my mothers (clean and in plastic bags so think they've just been sat in the cupboard for the last 30 years and what I think is a small aquarium - found various cleaning supplies in the kitchen drawers yesterday.
Went downstairs, moved all the rubbish behind the back door, unlocked it and looked at the jungle (I had a faint hope of being able to get to the back gate and check if the bin was full). Ferns growing from one side, vincas on the left (including bits that have forced their way through the door trasher and inside the back door). The largest tree had 6 8 feet long shoots coming out in all directions. I managed to get my walker outside and reasonably flat and pulled and cut bits I could get at. No way to advance and couldn't risk trying to walk away from the walker (the 'path' should be as wide as the door but I struggled to find space to place the walker and rotting leaves and foliage make it very slippy.
I really need to contact the gardener to get some estimates (and a decorator and carpet fitter) so I have some idea what it's going to cost to put it right (thinking maybe I offer my brother half the estimated value or £5 k less if I undertake to do all the work (just the clearing, cleaning, waste removal of anything I can't recycle, flattening the garden - remove all plants dig out the tree roots, dig out all the soil and dismantle the cobble and slate beds . paint everywhere including outside windowsills and have new carpet/ lino everywhere except the kitchen) needed to bring it up to 'sale' standard. It also might need a handle on the door, new locks or a new door and rewiring and I'm not sure if the windows just need cleaning a painting or if they need replacing too.
I came home, put the quilt out on the line but not put more washing in, ate my food upstairs and have been here ever since (keep trying to motivate myself to go back downstairs and do a bit more but my back and legs protest when I go to the bathroom.. Could do with a couple of quiet domestic days to sort out food and washing up and my room is a tip (the wool covers keep slipping off the bed and they're difficult to walk across). I haven't done anything about replacing the WM, taken anything to the library or cs.
Grateful for being able to look outside at grandma's house - there are actually brown and blue bins in the yard but no way of getting them to the gate, moving things on a tiny bit, Johny Vegas's glamping programme.15 -

Hugs to all those who are poorlie, or helping support those who are. You're doing great, @grandmanerd but remember to rest too.
Luckily I woke when I did today, as I'd not tuned my alarm clock in properly after a powercut yesterday! Couldn't hear much traffic, but got up to the news of snow closures again 😃 tempted to go back to bed, but stated up & did some yoga. After breakfast, me & DH trudged 5 miles in the snow, posting a homemade card for my dad's big birthday next week.
Read my book whilst eating dinner, then cut out & made an apron for my friend's 50th birthday next week. I wanted to embroider her name on it, using my machine, but the letters stayed small, so think I'll have to do it by hand.
After tea, we watched DS3's Hong Kong video, I removed some listings from eboy & instead put the coins in my purse & savings pot. Did a row of knitting.
Grateful for a snow day, seeing beauty in nature everywhere, DS's video & that he came he safeUse it up, wear it out

I would have gone back to bed too, but here I have to get up thanks to cats. It has stopped raining but more is on the way. Outdoor cat Mitt was complaining mightily - seems to think the rain is my fault. Very talkative cat for a feral cat. Church delivered extra food from their weekly giveaway so took much of the food next door to neighbors and then went down to see if the rumors were true that our neighbors down the street are moving. They are, but don't want to. They had been renting and the owner is putting them out to sell the house so he doesn't have to do needed repairs on it. Offered our extra boxes if they need them. We have a lot thanks to deliveries. Took roommate to store as his Snap (Food Stamp) money came through. Been working on a parish register from Switzerland in between trips out as I had to go after Di who was at her chime class (roommate J dropped her off on his way to pick up his new girl friend). Tonight Di and I go to help at the FamilySearch Center. Fortunately, I don't have to drive as I don't drive well after dark - only using one eye to drive any way as glasses still not working properly.
Today I am thankful there has been no rain today, for the car still running (it is twenty years old), and for the
computer program that makes indexing easier.
Stay safe out there. That is a long way to walk in the snow.

Happy New Appliances. @DrCarrie🍾
I am glossing woodwork. It is thrilling. A wild rollercoaster ride of thrills and excitement. Wish it were over as quick as a theme park ride. 🤣 The new room needs a carpet and then it is ready for habitation. So I should stop whining and get on with the last gloss coat on the outside of the door, and go buy a carpet and a bed with this months PB win.

Good morning everyone Its raining here today, I hope you’re all warm, well fed and poorly ones getting support and hugs.
Another two days nothing needed, so I’m concentrating on going through the house, its slow going and a chore, its more than 30 years of stuff and memories, my keep pile is way too big but as it’s just me and my children have their own homes I don’t want to leave them to have to do it, although I know They will be much quicker and more ruthless than me. I agree with Grandmanerd, when I sell I want to give other people besides builders an opportunity to buy and widen potential buyers for it, my house is definitely a Doer upper and again I’m thinking if I can do a few things first it might make it more saleable.
Like Foxgloves where I live builders are very unreliable and charge the earth, it cost my neighbour £5,000 for a downstairs toilet and sink in his conservatory.
So yesterday to give my mind a break, procrastinating eek, I went through my food cupboards and my baking stuff, I found a jar of hazelnuts I’d forgotten about and I have a recipe for making Nutella, …it took longer than I thought but was actually much nicer than shop bought stuff, possibly not money saving but less sugar and I kid myself better for me.
I love MSE, Thank you to all who share their journey and knowledge to reach their goals and live a good life on a small income.
2025 will be a year of necessary challenges and changes, and closing some doors permanently that don’t serve me or are not in my best interest.10 -

Good morning everyone, raining non stop since last night here too. I would much rather have snow!
Plans for today: work and deliver the set of urgent reports I have been requested, and which have been bothering me since last Friday (yesterday a very idyllic holiday dream set in Switzerland with Greek houses has been abruptly interrupted by a dream of my VP coming to ask where was I at with the reports, ugh! Needless to say, the idyllic dream didn't come back).
Once that is out of the way, I can return to my business as usual and do a meal plan for next week, starting on Sunday. If I finish work punctually today, I'd also like to continue my yarn-stash cataloguing, I have 1 box left plus a few bits and bobs in different spots.
