My mum bought one of those grown your own kits from B & Q.
Save your money and don't bother. It was a total waste of time and other posters on Greenfingered board have said the same.
I can't advise on any other ways of growing but didn't want you throwing away good money.
I buy the Sainsburys basics - you get a large punnett for less than £2 I think.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Awaken ye mushroom thread. :T
Same thing here, never failed to grow for me in those conditions. Dark seems to be the main thing as I have had poorer results in places where there is a little light.
Time to get some more now I'm reminded how nice they are so fresh for brekkie

I had a kit years ago from Woolies! It was okay.
I do have a lot of wild mushrooms about, but really do need someone to help me identify them.
Cooked some that looked 'normal' & they ruined the stew, they tasted so bitter.
I'm sure some are Chanterelles - I should try them, but I think they've all gone over now.0
