Morning everyone...balerinagirl i'm in the north east too but newcastle!!

Well im not a happy bunny today....its my weigh in tonight and ive been so good....I seem to go in fortnightly cycles of loosing weight and this should be the week i lose....Weighed in last thurs and then weighed myself at home on monday( scales always show the same as sw)...well i'd lost 4lb...was pleased and looking forward to weigh in this week.....on monday i went to the docs for something for my constipation( that you all know about....) and he gave me Movicol...welll got weighed again this morning and im back to where i was last thurs...if not a lb heavier!!!

Now the sachets he gave me a mostly salt and the stop the water you drink it with being absorbed by the body and push it to the bowel tho help you go....

Do you think its just water retention and will it go again?? Im feeling a bit down!!!

gpuss, I have recently moved from Oxspring- next to Penistone! Whereabouts in Stoke are you Charlie? Who is your SWC? Still peeved about a pound weight loss after trying sooooo hard. Did have loads of red days which I rarely do, so I am going to have a green day. Megaday at work so we will be mad busy. Just had scrambled egg on toast HE/b don't get a break and wont be in til 3.30, so will have a yoghurt and banana when I get in, and you have all got me in the mood for SW chips. Going to have those with mushy peas and gravy for tea ...mmm...

Oh my God, had same prob as you if you read earlier threads. Doc gave me Movicol. Did nothing, so read the pamphlet. I followed instructions for faecal impaction ( scuse me everyone) and had EIGHT sachets in a six hour period........NOTHING!!!!!!! Couldn't beleive it!! Days later drank a botlle of prune juice from Morrisons and was stuck on the loo for three hours!!! Go with natural!!!

Did the Movicol make you retain water? I have been to the loo but not much i must admit but ive still been loosing weight so it cant be that....felt so much slimmer at the begining of the week...

Don't feel down, Angela!! It probably is water retention, as the salt is drawing in water to help with your constipation. That's a horrible feeling anyway, and tends to make you feel bloated and sluggish. Just keep going with your SW plan, maybe try some prune juice (that seems to do the trick for others) if the doc's stuff isn't working...

Shanleypink, you were not far from me at Oxspring :j

    ... and where's Peachy today?

    Well 160

I was just wondering what you would say to me if I said I wasn't sure about going to class???? I think you know what that would be. Get yourself to class and don't worry about it.

I wasn't going to go yesterday cos I knew I hadn't been good over the weekend, anyhow, it turns out I lost 1/2lb so not bad.

Don't read if you have a delicate stomach. :p

My daughter gets Movical paedeatric, as she's only 12. Nothing happened with her at first. She had to have 12 sachets a day before something happened - and boy did it happen! It says it takes about 3 days to work, but it was more than a week before it worked with my daughter. And even then she had to take 12 sachets for about 3 days before it worked. She was off school for a whole week while she got cleared out. Now she's on 2-4 sachets a day. It's the only thing that's worked for her. But she'd go weeks and weeks without going - she'd just constantly leak - she had encopresis for years.

If you take Movicol ,the water you take it with is retained in your body, rather than being absorbed by it. That's what makes your stools softer. But keep taking it cos you'll have a big poop and you'll end up having a good week lol

Oh, and she had to work up to the full dose gradually- start off with 2 sachets twice a day, then 3 sachets twice a day, etc. And believe me we've tried everything, and apart from a suppositary, it's the only thing that's worked.

Forgive me fellow SW's for I have synned. I took my great weight loss this week to full advantage and ate the remainder of my birthday cake last night - 3 slices   However, I was on track until this, and am on track today (hopefully my last green day for a while in order to shake up my body!)

    Sorry all :o
