If you don't have all the ingredients I make mine with leftover mashed potato (or fresh), flaked cooked salmon, both mixed with beaten egg and some parsley. Make into fishcake shapes (flat rounds) then brush with beaten egg and then roll in HM breadcrumbs. Lovely! (You could always leave the breadcrumbs off!)

Have been really poor with my self discipline this week so far....didn't even weigh in as I just knew I shouldn't!

I'm not going to waste everyone's time with a long drawnout, woe is me post, I just would love to know how you guys mantain your motivation and self discipline.

hi there i am wanting to join slimming world online its £49.99 do you think its worth it? or am i better going to a local club? has anyone here joined the online sw and if so how did they find it? and was it worth the money?
    cheers!!

I prefer going to class, it's an enjoyable hour or so and I get ideas of what to eat, by listening to others. :D and some of the reasons as to why they have maintained or put on.
Maybe go along to a class and ask if you can sit in and then decide at the end....a lot of it depends upon the consultant.

  • I used to go to class and done so well .... it was the idea of standing on scales in front of someone that spurred me on (and that you get a sticker, how sad !!). When I could no longer go to class due to work commitments I put weight back on.

This time I am doing it at home , but really cannot cheat as it will be summer soon and I don't want to be covering up all summer.

thank you sugar plum, although what actually happened was i lost 6.5 stone(and won one of the SW national titles in 2005 :j ) got over confident ,put 4 back on, started taking it seriously again and have now lost half a stone since january.

shockingly i was still attending class and it crept back on at the rate of about half a pound a week...1lb off one week, 1.5lb on the next,maintain,0.5lb off, 1lb on...went on like this for 2 years, kidding myself i was still slim, then realised i wasn't cos i was 4 stone heavier :(

since jan i've only lost 6lbs in 7 weeks

i've followed the plan and given all my food diaries to my consultant who said they were all ok, so she contacted head office, who have sent her a plan called "fast forward" you follow for 1 or 2 weeks as necessary to kickstart your weightloss. she said she has done it before herself and it works.

has anyone else tried this "fast forward" plan? apparently its quite restrictive and everything you eat has 'units' like ww points
  • Erm, Peachyest....one of the reasons I don't go to the classes and use the net site is because I'm a Bloke! (Don't know why I feel that way)
But you're right and I've started afresh by having a Syn free dinner.
    Cheers you lot

Hi LoneR, we have a couple of blokes who come to our class, and they are doing really well with their weight loss. SW love blokes to go and if you look in the magazines there are always articles about men who have lost weight, and look great.

Why not phone SW and find out who is your local consultant - give them a call and ask if there are men at the class, you never know, your consultant might be a bloke :D
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
