midwife_twinkie - it depends how your will power is! Its easier to cheat when you don't have to stand on the scales in front of another person and I would always convince myself this and that reason for not losing. I need the discipline of goingt o a group same night every week (though I should stay to class more than I should!)0

Hi Midwife Twinkie
It depends how strong willed you are - if I did it at home I would cheat. I need the discipline of going to class and being weighed.
It also helps to meet other people on the diet, and get ideas from them - it also helps that our consultant is great, and the meetings are fun as well as informative. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
hi there skint_catt i see what you are saying i know i would be prone to cheat by doing it online i think i should maybe try a group anyway good luck with your weight loss XX0

There is a recipe for spicy salmon fishcakes on the SW site if that helps... they look nice.
I have made these today. Yummy. I added fresh coriander and used chilli powder instead of the fresah red chilli. Got loads leftover. Now to freeze or to nibble??0 -

Serves: 4
Syns per serving: Free on Original
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Category: Dinner1 butternut squash, chopped
5 carrots (optional), chopped
Large tin of red or pink salmon, drained with skin and bones removed
1 red chilli, finely chopped
1 bunch of spring onions, finely chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
½ tsp Thai 7 Spice or Chinese 5 Spice
Pinch of dried mustard powder
1 egg, beaten
Fry Light
1. Boil the carrots and butternut squash until tender, then drain in a colander to remove all the excess water, return to the pan

2. Add the salmon, chilli and spring onions and combine. Add the spice and mustard powder, season to taste and mix together with the beaten egg.
3. Divide the mixture into 8 portions and shape each one into a ball. Flatten each ball with your hands to form a ‘cake’, and store in the fridge until required.
4. Spray a frying pan with Fry Light and fry for approximately 5 minutes on each side. Serve with a huge fresh green salad0
