angela I understand the diet - its worked well for me before (3.5 stone plus two this time) but they tell you foods are 'free' no questions, then the helpline, says well no because 5 is too many. We all have different appetities adn taste - I can eat 5/6 Laughing Cow cheeses easily as they are small and tasty - a good snack - but doorstep says she can barely manage two.
Anyway, I've had 3 laughing cows, two mug shots and my cereal and milk this morning. Bet I've put on 4lbs now! :rotfl: There's nowt I can do in 3 hous to change things so I'll just have to see what the scales say :confusd:0 -

But in reality they arent free, no questions.....I know they say they are but the calories are still going into our bodies....it just confuses me, thats all.

Skint Catt, I know sometimes one little thing like that can throw your head in a spin because to me free should be free.I can accept the fruit cooked or pureed thing as it is specified in the books clearly enough but then when they say chickpea peanuts are misuse of ingredients that makes me a bit peeved. I think they should do an article on misuse of ingredients in their mag as there is a lot to clear up. I have done the "free" crisps a couple of times and I found that the last time I used two potatoes and by the time I had sliced them on the mandolin and baked them in the oven (don't have a micro) that it took ages before I could dig in (well it seemed like it but probably wasn't), I couldn't be faffed going back and doing it all again but I wasn't as full as I would have been after 2 baked tatties true enough. also I reckon there must be a lot of frylight on them when you think of the surface area (although the micro way wouldn't have that) but it filled the need that particular day when I had run out of syns and needed snacky stuff. I think if you do these things occasionally they will usually be fine but if you are doing it three nights a week then you might start to not lose etc, at least then you know what it might be.
Today has been a joke again. I started off well planning what I would eat as there was very little food left in the house before Mr T arrives tonight. But then we ended up being out for lunch and couldn't get any decent sandwiches so ended up with a pepperoni monstrosity that wasn't even that nice but I was starving by then. I got home about an hour ago really hungry and in full munchy mode and have gone way over my syns again. Didn't get much sleep and felt ill until lunchtime anyway so that has done for me today. When will I ever get back on the saddle. I am getting bored of this. But I have no excuses tomorrow, there will be food and if I decide to go out I will plan it much better for lunch. I could have had a lasting sat yog but I just didn't fancy them today. Pity as that could have stopped the rot.
Flat Eric - could you (poodles stands back to avoid any flying objects that might come her way) get up any earlier so you are a bit readier for food before you leave and force yourself to have something then? Or what about hardboiling some eggs the night before and taking them with you, I find an egg really does fill me up for ages. Or I also find that even if I don't fancy it to start with by the time it has cooked the smell of bacon gets to me and suddenly I can find it in myself to have some. So maybe a bacon sarnie. It would go away with a HEB but you get a lot of bang for your buck. As another poster mentioned you could take it with you as a BLT and still eat that at work. Yummy. Can you imagine the drooling of everyone at work? I do find it hard to eat as soon as I get up too. Do you have a microwave at work? What about some porridge/readybrek/oats so simple? You could add some fruit to it too. Again a HEB but really filling. But depends on how your work is set up for that kind of thing. I could have done it at my work although I am sure I would have got "looks".
Peachy - welcome to the DIY club!! Sounds like you have a consultant from the same mold as mine. You just don't need the hassle do you? I would love to stay to class as I do think if you can it is motivating but for some people it just isn't an option at least not all the time. And being made to feel bad about it isn't helpful. SW can help everyone but not if you are made to feel like a second class citizen all the time. I am fully expecting a phonecall next week from mine and I haven't got a clue what I am going to say. I need someone to give me a supply of brave pills.0 -
Thanks to all of you, reading that I am not the only one in the same boat has REALLY helped me this week! I am on a green day today, and have both my HEb's left to use, can anyone give us a clue what to make for tea? I was thinking of chick pea dahl and savoury rice and using my B's as a snack... but what? Done loads of reds this week which I very rarely do and weigh in tomorrow, so we shall see if "mixing it up" helps my weight loss... although I must say, I feel like I have eaten TONS this week and will of put on?0

I would be tempted to have some toast and either a HEA of cheese if you have any left or syn a topping or have marmite if you have nothing else left. Or a cereal bar or two. Or a bowl of cereal and milk if you have a HEA left or yoghurt if not. On the toast thing again you could make one HEA of cheese go that bit farther by doing "tiger toast" which is stripes of cheese and marmite on toast then stick under the grill to melt the cheese. My DS loves this and I admit I got it off Big Cook Little Cook0

Oh and remember that if you are on green you can have one of your HEBs as cheese anyway so cheese on toast is an option even if you have used your HEAs0

Think cheese on toast tonight is on the cards, thanks poodlehorse... and you are brave admitting about big cook, little cook...hehehe0
