hi obsessed newbie, i can't help with the laughing cow bit or the crackerbreads, as i've no book with me,
my first thought from what you have said is were you eating enough "super" free foods, i e fruit and veg (not potatoes?) i think filling up on these whilst having the other free stuff is the key to it all. and also varying your diet, your body gets used to one type of food, so you need to chop and change.
another thing thats really helped me this week, is to drink loads of water (or sugar free juice, as i get bored with water quick) as this flushes your body out.
hope some of that ramble may be of some use,

best of luck and let us know how you get on,

I've just been out to buy the ingredients for the curry in the latest magazine. OH is away tonight, (he doesn't like curry), so bring it on!!

One question though - would I be able to re-freeze it after cooking (it uses the quorn pieces that are cooked from frozen)?

doorstep - I would probably freeze it - Quorn is less 'dangerous' than meat or chicken, so I wouldn't have a problem. I make chilli with fozen quorn mince and always freeze half for another meal - it tastes better actually!

Thanks SC - I just hope it tastes nice now!!!
  • is creme fraiche allowed as a healthy extra and if so how much? if no what is the syn value?
  • I eat loads of potatoes, pasta and the fat free supernoodles, pasta N sauce but all i seem to see is the scales going up. I give it a few days to a week see the scales go up and change diet and then it all goes horribly wrong. Its why i left last year, first week i lost 6.5 pounds then the following 2 weeks i put it all on again. How i just dont know as i was eating the same - i kept food diaries and brought them in each week.

It could be that you are a little sensitive to the wheat in the pasta and noodles. I would avoid those for a week and see if it makes a difference.

However, 160 is right, you should really be varying the foods you eat and drinking a mimimum of 2½ litres of water every day. Try to have plenty of fruit, vegetables and salads with your meals to provide interest and don't forget to have your healthy extras.

Toby's Mummy, do you actually make your own pasta from scratch (using flour and eggs) or do you mean that you buy fresh pasta? Only dried pasta is free and then only on a Green day (Skint Catt has given you the syns for fresh pasta), but 35gms (dry weight) of wholewheat pasta can be taken as a HEB on an Original day
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • just to add that the cheese and chow mein mug shots are also fre on a green day

just deciding what to have for tea
