Hi all, I lost 2 1/2lb in my weigh-in today! Anyway we were all talking about what recipes we had done recently-our leader had mentioned about chicken breasts with diet coke poured over then cooked in the oven. The coke then cooks into a sticky sauce which is supposed to be gorgeous. Anyone heard of this one.0

Hi everyone,
I'm looking at Slimming World...again.
But I could do with some ideas for lunch and dinner. I do green days, but use a HE for each. I hoping to stick with fruit and yog for breakfast.
I want to be able to do the same meals for everyone and lunch also covers DH who works from home....???
Any ideas???
If you add 4 or 5 tablespoons of made-up plain couscous to your fruit & Muller for breakfast, it will keep you full for much longer.
Jacket potatoes are a quick and easy lunch option, fillings can be varied to suit all the family, but if you wanted a free lunch (on Green) fill with a tin of baked beans or even a packet of pasta n sauce .........extremely filling.
For dinner you could make a curry and serve with rice. I 'fry' my rice usinf Frylight and adding peas, finely chopped onion and strips of omelette to make it more interesting and filling. Other options include Quorn spag. bol. or Quorn chilli (if you want to keep to free foods), or make a Sunday roast with your potatoes and parsnips roasted the SW way (par-boiled and roasted in FryLight) lots of veg and a HE of meat, or (everybodies favourite) egg and chips with mushy peas which would be free food.
Don't forget to have your HEs though - at least 1 A and 2 Bs.
Hope these ideas help.
Falafel recipe:-
227g/8ozs dried chick peas
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 level tsp ground cumin
1 level tsp ground coriander
1 small red chilli, deseeded & finely chopped
1 tblsp chopped fresh coriander
2 tblsps chopped parsley
¼ tsp baking powder
salt & freshly ground black pepper
Fry light for spraying
1. Put the chick peas in a bowl and cover with plenty of cold water. Leave to soak for at least 48 hours. Drain and rinse well under cold running water in a colander.
2. Put the drained chick peas in a food processor with the onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, chilli and herbs. Process to a thick smoth pur!e. Add the baking powder and seasoning and stir well. Transfer to a bowl and chill in the fridfge for an hour.
3. Take small pieces of the mixture and form into little balls between your hands, then flatten slightly. Arrange these balls on a baking tray which has been sprayed with Frylight.
4. Cook the falafel in a preheated hot oven at 220°C/425°F/Reg 7, for about 12 - 15 minutes until crisp and golden.
A bowl of very low fat natural yogurt flavoured with fresh mint and chopped chilli, makes a good dip for the falafel.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

I tried one of the recipes in the red free book tonight (tomato chicken bake, but it wasn't a great success - the sauce was watery, and it didn't have much taste. I need to find really tasty recipes that both my DH and I like, or I am really going to struggle as I don't want to have to cook two meals at night.
Anyone have any suggestionsYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
hi forgot to say , tescos mug shots are 4 for £1.50 and some are free on green days0
