nuttyrockeress - sorry to hear you've been good but maintained - it will probably show next week - I get lots like that! How cool is that for it to come to your work! Must make it easier if your colleagues understand what you're eating!

I'm gutted, just weighed in at work (we get SW come in every Wednesday) and stayed the same.... I have been so good too...........

16011996 - soup is fine when blended down, it's just the sugars in fruit that is the problem when juiced/blended!

My fave at the mo is butternut squash and celeriac soup - beautiful!!

thanks for the info on the soup, was worried that was causing a problem.

i had a great week last week and maintained. p'eed me off something rotten (made me cry actually and i'm not a big one for crying). had another good week this week, so hoping its going to show this week, or else i don't know what i'm going to do, probably have a breakdown, lol. even though its disheartening, think of it as great you not put on, and how much healthier your diet is now compared to before, and know you, like me and many others who've had this happen, will get there in the end,
big big hug to you, i know just how you feel,

    160.

16011996, you're right about putting on - one of my friends from my first class said she'd put on about a stone a year since she'd had her kids and although she wasn't really losing much at slimming world (7lbs in 6months) she was happy cause she wasn't putting that stone on this year - so its all good really! I've stopped eating Pringles and Nachos with salsa every evening, cut down (nearly out) chocolate and don't touch cakes or biccies (except a small bit of my own baking which I then give away to OH's work) so its all good really!

  • I've lost 12ib in 4 weigh in's now - but 10ib on the first week.....

I made the Roasted red pepper and chilli soup on Sunday which was nice but I put in too much extra spice (Spilt Habenero tabasco in - I have tabasco in everything!!)

I'm pleased I have stumbled upon this thread!
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice

hello :p and welcome to the thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can you tell me where you got the soup recipe? its not one i've seen ( i don't think ) and soup is my new fave food. the excitement of having a hand blender has gone to my head i think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • It’s one that I sort of played with and adjusted!!

    Whole butternut squash
    Small celeriac
    1 large onion
    2 cloves garlic
Stock made from chicken Bovril – about 600ml (I normally judge this)
    LF Fromage frais

    Peel and chop the onion
Peel and dice the squash and the celeriac
Spray a pan with fry lite
    Cook the onions until softened
Crush the garlic and add to the onions
Add in the diced squash and celeriac – sweat down a little – for about 5mins – make the stock at this stage
Pour in the stock and leave for around 20mins or until veg has softened
Once ready add to the blender and whiz! Add a “dollop” of fromage frais – I also add a few shakes of Tabasco at this stage

    Mmmmmm

  • Should add - it's all free!! Woo-hoo
